In light of what happened it's probably in good taste. The wounds are too fresh. Though in your head you *know the two are not related.

I will have to say I watched a show on CNN last night with Anderson Cooper hosting he said he was not going to use the name of the Aurora shooter and glorify him further. I do think this is a direction that needs to be taken. In our media age criminals are glorified to the point people do stuff to get in the news or on reality shows.

Court docs are showing that James Holmes was being treated for schizophrenia

Didn't I tell u what was going to happen with this case?

IMO saying he was taking out zombies woulda made for a stronger insanity case

    Shocking. Or not.

And they just caught some guy in Maryland who threatened to blow everyone up in his office where he was recently fired.

    Will it ever end??

Oh yeah, and this guy in Maryland claimed to be the "real Joker".

At least, they caught him before any damage was done.

Weird. Schizophrenics are usually not violent or aggressive, just wicked paranoid.

Maybe, but some are criminally, violently insane. I agree though that in the few instances I've known people diagnosed with schizophrenia including a family member, they are people forever lost inside the nightmare within their own heads.

guess his defense told him to look 'as crazy for the cameras as you can'

probably going to try the peanut-butter poop move in court from Training Day, where you pack your ass with peanut-butter and eat it. Makes you look like you're batshit crazy, eating your own feeces when in reality it's just good ole fashioned PB

A week after losing her 6-year-old daughter, Veronica, in the horrific Aurora movie massacre, Ashley Moser suffered a second tragedy.

The 25-year-old mom, who was critically wounded when a gunman opened fire at a Colorado Dark Knight Rises premiere, suffered a miscarriage as a result of her injuries this past weekend.

''Ashley Moser is recovering from an additional surgery she had this morning,'' read a statement from the Aurora Medical Center, where she's been receiving treatment. ''Tragically, the extreme trauma she sustained also caused a miscarriage."

After being shot in the abdomen and neck, Moser was in critical condition. Her family waited to share the devastating news about her daughter Veronica, the youngest fatality in the shooting, until Moser's condition improved last week. But by this weekend, it was confirmed Moser had also lost the fetus she'd been carrying for eight weeks as a result of her injuries.

This comes just days after Moser's boyfriend, Jamison Toews, shared their baby's ultrasound with CBS News in hopes of keeping Moser's spirits up. At the time, her unborn child was believed to be alive, leading media outlets to proclaim the young fetus's survival a miracle.

On Monday, Holmes was charged with 24 counts of first degree murder among other violent offenses after a shooting spree that left 12 dead and 58 injured. On Sunday, before the charges were announced, The New York Times speculated that Moser's miscarriage could have implications surrounding the case against the suspected shooter. Colorado's fetal homicide laws, which pertain only to a person who was "born and alive," may fold the personhood debate into the tragedy's aftermath--an already crowded political arena.

But for Moser the pain is personal, not political. Before attending the movie screening, she was about to attend nursing school. Now as her family plans her 6-year-old's funeral, Moser faces possible paralysis, unthinkable grief, and according to her family members, "a lifetime of care."

The family thanked well-wishers for the outpouring of support over the past week and requested those wanting to donate to Moser's care visit any Wells Fargo Bank and request "Donation Account for Ashley and Veronica Moser."

Her aunt confirmed she will be paralyzed. They are hoping she can use her arms.

She will have lost her six year old, her baby and use of her legs. I hope people who used this thread to make ridiculous statements can sleep on that.

I sure can . It sucks what happened to her but it doesn't make my point any less valid. If you guys think only making contrite and well wishing comments in this thread effects anything outside of your personal ego good luck with that.
All that can be said to her situation is its a lesson to the rest of us that life is flimsy as fuck and we can only appreciate the tiny moments where we get to be happy and feel safe.

I'm not a violent person by nature. I don't hate people based on the fact that I can just because I have the ability to hate and wish harm to other sentient beings.

The man who did this, he has no peace within him. And I truly hope that somehow, someway a lesson for change can be found in the midst of this horrible human suffering.

With that said, however, and after reading about the mother who lost both babies and the use of her legs...

I can only say that if they should only sentence him to prison (I don't think CO has death penalty), I sincerely hope that this man suffers in every way even remotely possible for a human to suffer.

As a mother I simply cannot imagine what this woman will face in her future. I can't imagine the sheer ferocity of the pain and despair she will most certainly contend with.

    My heart breaks for her.

I just realized that CO does have death penalty. Thank you Arch. I had to look that up.

    Surely he will get it.

I'm not for the death penalty..but in this case..I'm not against it.

The state of Colorado will not execute this guy right away....but during the interim he will have to answer to another kind of justice......Until they put him to sleep, the Warden, the prison guards and the inmates will all make his stay a living hell......because they will all personalize his senseless cruelty, in that it could have easily been their own family members in that theater....
