California,Texas and Florida should be no surprise due to the large Hispanic/Latin populations. The majority of white nationalist/neo-nazi activity here in Washington state occurs on the eastern side of the state due to the large Hispanic migrant population employed on all the farms in that part of the state. A lot of the Neo-Nazis from Idaho cross over into Eastern Washington to do their dirt because of this as well.
I just want to point out that Odinist and Neo-pagan tattoos do not a hate group member make. And if you saw a swastika, and he's Asatruar, it would make sense, because to those people, they take the swastika in it's original meaning, which is thousands of years old. The swastika's literal meaning, as far as I remember, is 'to be good'. It's always represented peace - at least it *did* until Hitler got ahold of it. Anyway, I know many pagans who have versions of the swastika on their bodies if they're followers of Odin, in particular the Odin Brotherhood group (Astatruars). HOWEVER, there are some pagans who follow Odin who do lean more towards what I've heard called 'racial paganism' (how the hell that works? No idea)... and a group called Wotoans, who are notoriously racist, but there are not many of them out there from what I understand...but the only way to know for sure which way they lean is to ask them. That's a pretty big leap, in my opinion, to make an assumption of that nature about him without knowing for sure. Anyway, carry on.
You can make that distinction if you'd like but since someone like me would be their intended target of violence and hate I'd prefer to air on the side of caution. And this is the US people dawning those marks aren't usually with any pagan groups. Knock it off and be a little sensitive. You definitely know better.

Those are important points to be made and I'm all for understanding cultures and subcultures, but I wouldn't have said such a thing without foundation. It was not a swastika, but a schutzstaffel totenkopf among other things. If it wasn't made clear, I spoke to this guy numerous times and knew his name like many of my co-workers. He also once made a coded quip about Jews. So yeah, there is no leaping here, especially from someone who grew up with a gaianesque mother and knows a few things about paganism.
I've heard about the number codes first, when I took some pics in a Hells Angels club and the owner told me that the numbers on the cappies, hanging on the wall may not be photographed, but I've never found the meanings of it. TDK, once you get married and especially once you have kids of your own, trust me, any thoughts of self preservation go out the window if your family is threatened. The urgent need/desire to protect them, against hell itself if need be, is innate and grows in you the moment you hear your child's heartbeat or hold them in your arms.
