And let's put this into context. You would have a strong case of "it's just a joke" if not for these facts:

    1) You stay on the straight hatin'/shit stirring tip 99.9% that you post on this site.

    2) You can't joke about people if you don't like or get along with them. When you joke about people you don't like or get along with it's usually seen as insult.

    Just some food for thought.

The reason I point out stuff like this, is because I feel that it is our duty as Black people to call to attention racial discrepancies. Because the new racism battlefield is in the media and modern racism is more subtle then the overt racism of the past. The new tool of racists is subversive media saturation. The media will use a thousand different things to hammer in the concept of Black marginalization. When Black people are consistently portrayed as a "child race", sidekicks, cannon fodder, or as the "invisible man". It is racial oppression by a thousand little cuts. And it leads to a overall picture of Black people as inferior.

The insidious nature of the new racism has had the sad and unfortunate effect of even brainwashing some Black people into thinking that they shouldn't complain about racism anymore. Not only that, But the new racists turn it around on us, by implying that the people pointing out the problem, are actually the racist ones.

I'm not blind to the fact that there are some Black people who cry racism too much, and that not every negative portrayal of Black people is racist. But that is why we have to be diligent in pointing out those concepts that may or may not be intentionally racist and/or the people who's agenda is clearly intentionally racist.

What's worse is that in the comic book the main character's right hand man became this kick-ass black guy who also wasn't shy about hooking up with the ladies (including for awhile the mother of the girl who was turned into a zombie). TPTB never brought that character onto the show and don't seem to have any plans to do so down the line even though they are bringing in virtually all the other main characters from the comics. I guess they can't afford to take any glory away from the white men on the show. Like with Fallen Skies...it is all about the white guys. TPTB are bringing on the sword-carrying black chick who would eventually hook up with this black guy in the comics, so I guess on the show she'll have to find someone else to fuck. Hmmm. In the comics the black chick was also going to become involved with the black father that we saw in the first ep of the show, but TPTB don't appear in any rush to bring him back either. Oh, well. Thank God for T-Dog then, right?

I suppose some want us to "suffer" in silence. If you bring up anything that is an example of bias, stereotyping or one-sided treatment you must be feeling sorry for yourself. Got the memo.
