Pankration? I know its the Greek martial art the Spartans used but I'm wondering how does it differ from MMA

 

When certain things are so obvious and everyone can see through the bullshit trying hard to convince people that your delusions are reality just worsens the case

 

From what I understand, its fairly interchangeable where MMA use many of the same methods. It may just be that my gym uses that wording (?).
After the San Soo lessons, we have Pankration, grappling, open mat, kick boxing lessons depending on the day. Usually 3 in a row w MMA conditioning before the San Soo. You can spend 4 h at the gym easily.

Im sure Petty can explain better, Remember I'm just a noob doing as I'm told. LOL

I hold no grudges, ever. Its water under the bridge as far as I am concerned. Aything you can teach me about MMA, grapping etc I gladly take.

I finally got my Gi (my gym doesnt give it to ya until.. whatever time) , they called me the "clear belt" or the "noseeum belt" HAHA. No mo!

although the places ive trained in philly usually have you grapple with the gi first, before going no-gi. they prefer that you get used to the fundamentals and consider no-gi/submission wrestling to be more advanced. it all depends on where you train. when i first enrolled at a MMA academy, you weren't allowed to take MMA until you gained sufficient rank in BJJ. I understand why'd they do that, as being able to survive on the ground is very important, but at the same time it throws people off that just want to dip right into mixed art training.
