Wow, holy shit, sums it up in a nutshell.

More reason as if any was needed that that dude was a coward.

You protect your family at all costs in times of danger. At all costs, they are your legacy when kids are involved.

Yep, its just the way of the world man.

Crazy as fuck, you never know when the day could go bad.

Bet the last thing on the mind of those folks in the Aurora, Colorado theater was something like that ever happening.

I'm someone who likes to observe different cultures, societies and across the board there are those folks who just don't give a fuck about respecting life and property, will do anything to fulfill themselves or are just plain dirty to the core of their mindset about their approach to life.

Yeah, remember that story, wished a couple of caps had lodged in the two fucks.

Good on the part of dude, bet those two weren't expecting that response waiting for them.

Oh my goodness, one part of me wishes he had stopped shooting at them seeing they were already fleeing, but another part of me wants to praise him for being so brave.... I can sure tell you that if I was in that internet cafe I would be ever so grateful to the old man.....

    not really

history has shown that criminals generally repeat their behavior

a spared robber today, could mean more aggressive tactics with less hesitation and killed civilians later

these idiots were holding people at gunpoint..do u know what that means :p

I honestly didn't think of that........ It just seemed so brutal,,,,,,,, but compared to what they could possibly do next time the old man did the right thing.

Were either of them actually hit?

    dunno

    but think about it

just like in warfare, units do get routed (retreat) momentarily, then regroup/revise their tactics, then go back to fight later

i think what he did was tactically the best thing to do, in that situation with no police around for god knows how long.

Lol as you say it from your warm safe home. We can praise those dudes for their bravery without condemning dude for a split second decision made while he was under gun fire. This ain't Call Of Duty where you get to respawn after you're mortally hit. One thing I rarely question anymore is instinct. If your body tells you to run there's very little you can do about it unless you have training.

marines get scared while in the fleet before land deployments, because they know their chances of getting killed raise significantly

you can train and MEU X all you want..a bullet is still a bullet and a life is still very valued

    'nuff said

    the cold war

    :p

if you can in fact call it one

vietnam and the heavy fighting was wrapped up by then, but Germany was still a popular destination for units

combat would have been unlikely, but as with military service, you really never know what's going to pop up during your enlistment

unless you actually went 11B during vietnam/iraq...then you pretty much knew you'd be rotated for a few combat tours

Nothing sir i was in the dmz in korea earned a combat patch in grenada
But i still served my country. I was not looking for a free education or any thing but it was still my duty,
My great gramps gramps dad uncle and brother served and will not be ashamed by it.
When the gulf broke out i was to old or i would have been there. But i still serve my brothers by
Cooking for homless vets that returned home to lost homes family hope. So in in my mind i am still serving,

I'm not saying you have to look out for strangers bro.

What I am saying and my contention remains from the outset is that is a part of you, your family, your legacy, your connection to the world.

If you cannot protect them then you are a coward that deserves to be viewed as nothing less.

I know all I need to know about someone that would leave their two children and girl and run home, while she is left behind.

These were not strangers he was being asked to defend, it was a part of him and he chose not to.

If someone can't sacrifice to protect their own family in a time of life and death, then they are lower than low.

At least she knows what dude is about and what he would do when push comes to shove. She has been forewarned.
