The militarized version allows fully automatic fire, and with 100rd drum magazines an ar-15 becomes a light machine gun. NRA supporters and gun enthusiasts will remind you that he was in his constitutional right to own the civilian version, which is referred to as a rifle and not an assault rifle, due to semi auto fire like a pistol.

I think the real question is why are civilians allowed to buy 100rd magazines. The rifle deal I understand...even .50cal snipers are legal. It's the ammo capacity he had that caused so many casualties

If his weapon did jam, you can be thankful he didn't have real training. As a side note, you generally carry a second weapon/sidearm for purposes like that

From what I have read he had three weapons all up, so he was prepared for that unfortunately.

No offense intended so lets just go with heros ok?
As far as 100 mag go i think its that tacticool nonsense. But even if he didnt have that you still have 30 rd mags same same empty drop repeat. I have 8-10 30 rounders some guys i know have 50 or 60 mags but what seprates us from him we are law abiding people. I have a tommy gun with a stock 50 rd drum
But the thought of running out shoot innocent would cross my mind

In regards to what you mentioned before about the gun,,,, there should be a law against having a gun that holds that much ammunition..... There should be a tracked limit to what they can have/order over small periods of time... Probably impossible to inforce though.

Tracking only works for law abiding people or people with no record criminals
Dont care about the law. And they have ways of getting around that. That is whats known as a straw purchase

It was reported here that he had extra ammo clips so that when the clip jammed initially he grabbed another. Does that make sense? I don't know how those military rifles work that they say he was shooting up the place with. You would know better for sure...

Oh didn't hear that. So many different details..he was like a one man mini-army.

Well thank you for explaining that. Your knowledge is commendable. BTW, I actually agree with much of what you have said regarding being armed to protect self and family. :smt023

As a people we must come to terms with that there crooks out there that want what you have for no other reason you have it and they dont.
Mentaly ill people that snap, but that make the crime any less serious? Then you have true evil people out there. My question is will reason work?
Will pleading work? Will asking what kind of child hood they had help you while he or she is killing your family? Or sexualy assualting you? In my mind the answer is no!!! The police are there for clean up.
Unless there right when it happens. The onus is on each of us to protect ourselves. To each to figure out how we do that.

Just a after thought the lessons learned please be aware!! And no matter what one thinks true guns do kill people but only if there are people operating them.
I have taught momma and my girls to shoot, are they combat ready by millatary standards no, but by keeping aware and looking around, at least they have fighting chance. This is not a hollywood shoot out, because if you do shoot some one it will change you for ever. Also the as a ccw holder the facts have to fit the investigation, if not we are no better than the criminals,

Yes absolutely to your last line...no vigilantism, no recklessness, no sense of hiding behind laws,
no lies...only when one's life is in true danger....

And it helps when there are camera's to tell the facts, Like here...

Last Wednesday, a 71-yr-old Florida customer at an Internet Cafe when it was robbed...
he pulled out his piece and fired...he saved countless lives that day standing up to them.

    1) what kind of gun was he using that allowed mothafuckas to run away, after being shot repeatedly at point blank

    2) if you buy a gun, buy a gun....something with stopping power that'll drop mothafucka

otherwise, cool video and kudos to pops

concealed carry and some training, with regular law-abiding citizens (which the majority of the US is) would go to stop LOTS of dumbshit from happening

get this shit correct Wild West style

people would think twice before doing stuff

kinda goes back to the old belief that to invade the USA, would be a folly on behalf of any foreign army, since everyone would be hiding in a bush with a gun.:smt106 (ask the brits about that one)
