FG with all due respect I doubt there's anything I can say to sway your opinion on this matter. We've done this song and dance for awhile and we both know where it'll lead and I don't want either of us to be frustrated. All I can say in relation to my comments is that I said what I did because this was an opportunity to illustrate how those type of distasteful things have no place nor enhance the merit of a conversation like this. I wanted to refrain from using Paniro and Iggy as examples again but what they do on a regular basis, most of the men can cosign this if they're honest because they speak up in the threads, is disgusting. They never miss an opportunity to bash the entire black race. Before anyone else chimes in I get that black on black crime is an issue but crime in general is an issue and the constant spotlighting of crimes happening in lower income black neighborhoods does nothing to stop it only to condemn it. That was my entire intention. Addressing in the threads as I have never seems to make a dent, it just gets myself and those who agree painted as apologist who are too "blind" to see how vile black people truly are. Addressing it hear was an attempt to illustrate how counter productive and idiotic statements like that are. Surprised that only Freddy and Mixed got what I was doing (excluding those who privately repped me of course)
Like I said earlier I don't intend to change your mind just wanted to let you know where I was coming from and agree to disagree.

Using extremely tragic event to do so makes you look selfish my friend. Nothing else. I dont think you being sarcastic was lost on anyone. It just extremely inappropriate and if you cant see that, then I have to wonder about your intentions.

A brother and an older (soon-to-be) single mother. That's a match made in heaven in the US.

Yes all very senseless and hard to understand. All in their prime of life. Their families definitely have prayers.

    Wow, definitely sad to read.

Right off the bat we see the story of the Navy veteran who protected his girlfriend and paid the ultimate price. Wonder if he had chosen to behave like that coward that ran out on his girlfriend and left her there alone with their two young children.

Anyway he has to live with that cowardice and knowing a complete stranger did what he couldn't do, protect his family and help them in a time of crisis.

Rest in Peace to all of the innocent victims.

If you think a woman will instinctively shield her man then in the words of judas priest, you got another thing coming

When something goes bump in the night at home, who's the in house first responder when both man and woman are around? Just for kicks, I think we should make the women 'go check it out'

It must just be me then.

15 years ago when things went bump in the night, my ex husband was never the first responder.

And again..I know I wasn't under live fire by a batshit nut case..but I always had to master that fear because even tho I was scared shitless (like fucking paralyzed at times) my thought was more for the safety of my babies and less so about tying my useless fuck of an ex husband to the bed and torching the place.

After getting the kids out of harms way first..of course.

Trust me when I tell you that everyone got your sarcasm when reading your original comment.

The problem with your sarcasm is you picked the way wrong thread to do it in. Your sarcastic comment does not apply to this situation.

If you want to make a sarcastic comment about white on white crime and how it has to stop then you need to do it in a thread about a white man/woman killing his/her white wife/husband/children. THEN your sarcastic comment will apply.

It does not apply in this situation because it was a random guy going into a random movie theater and killing anyone and everyone at random. Every "race" was likely represented in that movie theater at that time.

This senseless tragedy is a senseless tragedy for everyone, no matter the color of your skin.

Men and women react differently. When I've had my club, I was the first there when it came to problems (as the owner you are responsible for the security of your people), but I also have to say that many times male guests helped immediatly as soon as it got rough.

Once, when I've had problems and it took some time till the police could be there I've called a friend and not my boy-friend, both were in the house, but in a different room, because I wanted to protect my man and I knew his friend was a kid-soldier in Angola, so I assumed he is stronger, he will not hesitate to fight. It was a big mistake, because my boy-friend was feeling and thinking that he is weak in my eyes, what broke at the end our relationship

    damn that's cold-blooded

so what you're saying if your house had an intruder in it, he'd send you to check it out?

really wouldn't expect any less and ties right into the 'honor, courage, commitment' ethos

the same way those cops and firemen died evacuating people from falling fucking buildings on 9/11

they knew the buildings weren't stable yet they sacrificed themselves so that others may live

some people are heroic enough to answer the call and should always be remembered

i hope the young brotha gets his dues from what he did during the Aurora shooting

    LOL, petty.

I'm trying to picture that right, now.

Woman - Shhh, I heard something, go check it out
Man - Hell nah, you go check that shit out and see what's up

You are so wrong Petty. I would in a heartbeat, and it would be my man telling me to "stay the f*ck back and let me take care of this, judas priest, woman!!" [IMG]

    Very good point man.

What gets me about that dude that ran out is that it wasn't even complete strangers, it was a part of him, his DNA and he left them there to their fate.

I just can't wrap my head around that.

What if that brotha had ignored helping her and her kids. They might not be around today.

Definitely hope some good luck shines down on him man. Because he did something that a lot of other folks would not have chosen to do.

In that moment I can only imagine its split second, you either help or you look out for self and keep rolling.
