    Addum @ Iggy

Btw @ your 'elephant in the room' comment they referred to. I missed that post Ok, not right, Iggy.
It isn't the race and you know it. It's a mob mindset that happens in many circumstances with PEOPLE. Truth be told I noticed we were all discussing the criminal/bad behavior until that post. :|
I don't quite understand your (and TDK's) need to always bring up the race of the people in news stories.

If dudes want to come up in here acting like they are the gold standard that others, especially young black males, should emulate, then lead by example and act like you have some home training. But of course I forgot his attitude is "not my problem or responsibility". And that in itself is fucked up because if the brothers who are "successful" have an attitude of "fuck it/fuck them/fuck everybody but me" how the hell do you expect the fuck ups to come correct?

Sad, but true. Spectacles such as these on reinforce the most negative stereotypes out there.

@ GQBrotha: You're right. A disgrace, deplorable and sickening.

@ Alinoa: Jobs? What jobs? This kind of behavior steers kids in the direction that does not lead to gainful employement and participation in society.

We can only hope that some of them wise up and leave this bs behind before it's too late. Sadly, people formed these racist views of black people centuries ago, back when black people were the hardest working people in this country (people tend to work hard when threatened with whipping, lynching and death). So I don't want to sound like I'm giving racists some sort of pass - they have none. They are racists regardless of the actions of any given group of black people. That being said, this crap does NOT help people move beyond race. And people should be viewed as individuals anyways, not as some sort of undifferentiated racial mass.

Good posts, Orejon. One of the things I have realized is that these kinds of flash mobs weren't happening before the economic recession/financial crisis took place. I believe the economy does have something to do with why these uprisings have occurred.

As a race (just like Asians, Hispanics and other minorities), the economic standing that they were in has been lower than whites, but manageable before the recession took place. Everyone has lost a bit due to the crash, but minorities were already on a lower footing and still took an economic hit. This explains why these kinds of things take place. It's not necessarily because there's something wrong with black people and/or they're pre-disposed to doing these kinds of things. To correct these kinds of problems, minorities need a better economic standing and the global economy needs to improve.

Frankly, I don't think Iggy should have even made this thread. But perhaps he really did it with the intent that he likes white women, but dislikes both black men and black women at the same time, which is pretty unfortunate. :(

Um..that was what I said. I a nutshell, more or less, and not quite as eloquently.
Or that's what I was trying to say. Guess I didn't say it at all.

when canucks lost to the cup to the bruins in 2011, a flash mob riot ensued and most of them were white and asian.....

you can blame absentee BM for this...

as long BM evades his responsibility of being a father and be a good role model to his kids....more of this will continue..

Hmmm..my father wasn't in my life (not necessarily a choice he made alone..I'm fairly certain my mom made it hard for him. My life was a hell from the get go bc he was my father according to her) a lot and while I did ridiculously stupid ass shit, I would have NEVER participated in something like this.

It can't be blamed on all absentee fathers. Yes, some fathers go bc they are douchebags..but others are gone for a variety of reasons.

You can blame a lot of different things for this. But the point should be to get past blame and find a way to raise better generations.

And before someone wants to open their mouth in response about responsible parenting. Don't fucking bother.

I know my kids aren't angels.

    So piss off

Exactly. There are people who come from supposedly ideal good two parent homes and raised with morals & values that go on to do horrible things. Do you still blame the parents in those cases for those individuals turning out to be horrible people? Because most times those are the types of parents who are placing blaming on outside influences.

I don't think they had any political motivation. About the only thing I can say in agreement is that during chaotic, fucked-up (how's that for classy vocabulary, lol) times, more people do progressively more fucked-up things. It's not like they were making a statement, they were just being assholes. But the best cure for mass stupidity is a job.

Alinoa, you were more than eloquent. I was just trying to piggyback on your statements. I think these kids are just douchebags, period. There were ignorant asshole kids when I was in school as well, but they didn't have state-of-the-art communications to make every stupid brainfart they had a potential riot situation.

With such hallowed protest lines that rival "we shall overcome" such as.

    That's pretty classic..

Especially given the fact they were stealing shit to begin with. I guess that was why it was said.

Poverty is increasing in this country. I read in the newspaper the other day (yesterday) that the data from 2011 would explain that it has increased to 15.7% from 15.1%. If the trend isn't reversed, we will eventually fall into a third-world status and more of these kinds of uprisings would occur which involve mainly blacks and other minorities. If everyone was on an even economic standing, perhaps racism and racial tension would be lower.
