    Is that Cheney?

You mean to tell me that transplanted heart he got hasn't burst from his chest cavity in an attempt to save its own life?

Everyone knows he's heartless.. Coulda slapped a time piece in there and he wouldn't have stopped breathing.

God am I grateful I don't have to see his face all the time anymore. Of course, I don't watch fox news ever.

The problem with this argument is "You didn't build that" wasn't in reference to businesses.

    So?
As if business don't exist anywhere else in the world that start from nothing. They could have succeeded anywhere...because they WERE/ARE smart, despite Obama's arrogantly reminding them "you think you're so smart, there's smarter than you."

    .

Again, then why isn't every person successful if the credit is 'due to the system being in place to allow the success'?

It's like telling a man who busts his ass in the gym to amass an Adonis body, "well you think it's you, but if it wasn't for the gym equipment, you'd be nothing."
The truth is, he pays for his gym membership and THAT"S WHERE mutual 'thanking" ENDS. After that, it's the man who puts in his personal sweat and tears, and the owner who makes sure his gym is run on point...that determines their success or failure.

Was just an insensitive speech written for him.

LOL so it doesn't include people who run businesses now?

"Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. "

Why the fuck would Obama address companies started in Japan or india?

I don't know where you work..but the next time a customer hands you money and then is rude to you, you just remember that that's where the mutual thanking ends, mmkkkaayy?

What you have is a clear reference to America's infrastructure. Which wasn't invented in some garage by some ingenious businessman.

But...But...But...it HAD to have been because at one point in time it WAS successful!

If you read my post I said there are employees who work very hard to grow the business. But the fact remains that someone had to take a risk to create the business. My point was that it took me almost 2 years of hard work before anybody else was involved. Obama needs to realize that entrepreneurs need to be thanked for creating businesses that employ millions of people. Instead, he penalizes them for being successful and tries to take credit for their hard work.

There's something core about democrats that's rooted in handouts and demonizing the successful. I have a novel idea "work hard and stop making excuses".

Obama fails to realize that America is not just made up of billionaire hedge fund managers. There are over 1 million small business owners who break their back everyday to make a comfortable life for their families. The fact is that it's insulting to say "you didn't start that"...you're taking away a major point of pride in many people's lives. I'm ashamed for anyone who thinks that's okay.

And this is why the political process in this country has been reduced to a scripted soap-opera. Misdirecting and distracting people from what's REALLY going on so they can argue amongst themselves about petty topics such as this. smh

Is it really that deep??? *face-palm*

You all need to be thanked.

Well, thank you then for all your hard work and dedication to building jobs in America.

Now, then, how about for some hard black n white numbers? Shall we? I know you love numbers..

Out of 100,000 jobs Romney takes credit for 95,000 are poverty level jobs.

Oh, yeah. That helps. a lot.

    *snort*

No numbers. Just showing how good Mittens was as gov of mass and how he should seriously extract his head from his uptight ass

Mitt Romney*slammed*President Obama this morning over the*disappointing*new jobs report, saying the president needs to take responsibility for the negative effect his policies have had on the economy. “We’ve looked at almost, now, four years of policies that have not gotten American working again,” he said.

But when Romney himself was running a government, in his case*the state of Massachusetts, he was even more defensive about his lack of control of the employment picture than Obama is today. A new video unearthed by the liberal research group American Bridge shows Romney at a press conference in June 2006 admonishing reporters on*disappointing*jobs data. “You guys are bright enough to look at the numbers. I came in and the jobs had been just falling right off a cliff, I came in and they kept falling for 11 months,” he explains.

“And if you are going to suggest to me that somehow the day I got elected, somehow jobs should have immediately turned around, well that would be silly. It takes awhile to get things turned around. We were in a recession, we were losing jobs every month,” he added.

    From Salon..btw.

I know there is actual in depth numbers about his time at Bain. Fuck if I can find it.

I'll look later though on the MBP.

Since you want to talk about poverty level jobs. That's the only thing that has been added in the economy under Obama. Let's not even discuss the Labor Force Participation Rate which is markedly higher than the unemployment rate. Because those include the people who've just said "fuck it" and stopped looking for work. The fact is that Obama inherited a bad economy. Republicans aren't arguing that it wasn't bad, they are arguing that he has made it worse. His policies are stifling to business creators and therefore they choose not to hire anyone.

Romney's work at Bain Capital was in the private sector. Bain Capital's responsibility was to acquire companies and make them profitable so they can make money for their investors. Whenever you buy a company and try to turn it around, sometimes it requires laying people off. But tell me if you've heard of any of these companies: AMC Entertainment, Brookstone, Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Clear Channel Communications, Domino's Pizza, DoubleClick, Dunkin' Donuts, Guitar Center, The Sports Authority, Staples, Toys "R" Us, Warner Music Group and The Weather Channel. I think they employ quite a few people right?

No, 'no clear reference" to US's 'infrastructure. He's all over the place in his references.

Again, he just seems a tad out of touch with how hard it is to make it out here, even with help.

Here he is also crediting Dems for job creations and millionaires...so whatever. :smt102

I saw a clear reference to America's infrastructure especially in the quote about the internet. Folks chasing this phony controversy are "all over the place."

James why do you persist in this lie?

The country is producing jobs. To suggest otherwise is wrong.
The nation has sustained monthly job growth since October 2010. And year over year, more than 1.7 million jobs have been added.
