Kobe Bryant thinks so. Oddsmakers with Station Casinos aren't as optimistic. Bryant recently told reporters the current team would pull out a victory in a fantasy matchup, but Station Casinos sports book experts Chuck Esposito and Jason McCormick gave the 1992 squad an eight-point advantage. "I believe a few factors really stand out in our decision to stand behind the 1992 team," Esposito said. "The size of the team, having the 7' Patrick Ewing and 7'1" David Robinson, would really create some matchup problems for the 2012 team that doesn't have a true center." Esposito added that the height advantage the '92 team would enjoy would shut down the current team's three-point shot prowess. "The 2012 team has LeBron James and Tyson Chandler each with one championship ring to go along with Kobe's, while the 1992 team had a number of championship rings among Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Clyde Drexler, David Robinson, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson," said Esposito. "The 2012 team would also have to offer help down low on these players leaving open jumpers to Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and three-point sharp shooter Chris Mullin, which would be a recipe for disaster," McCormick said. Chuck went on to say only lebron Kobe and Durant would have made the 92 team, chuck is turning into that old guy trying to stay relevant. Who gives a f@ck about a question that can't be answered? He will never admit he didn't take his body serous enough to be the leader of a title team, he cries and moans he never played with a star in their prime, 93 he had kj Dan and chambers all very good players and chuck didn't rise to the occasion
Not a big fan of Charles Barkley, but I think the 1992 team was more balanced. They had big men, shooters, and closers. This team has some dynamic players (Kobe, Lebron, Durant) but they have no size and their shooters are inconsistent. If this 2012 team had Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, and LaMarcus Aldridge instead of Andre Igoudala, James Harden, and Tyson Chandler it would be a different story.
Exactly you can actually not even include Howard, by then Ewing was a jump shooter 80% of the time and Robinson was never a back to the basket player, rose Westbrook Kobe lebron and love on the floor would have given them a fit
that was a crack on some earlier teams before 2012 if i remember correctly. the good global teams had shooters with range, while the US team had flashy guys that were camera-provoking superstars and not really good shooters. The US team got embarrassed because of that a few Olympic games ago.
who's that girl? (a little off topic) Hey Tony S, where'd you get that pic in your signature? Looks hot. Do you know what movie/scene that's from?
There's no way in hell the 2012 team would keep up with the greatest team ever assembled. It's a shame Shaq was snubbed in favor of Laettner. That '92 team has more rings, more HOF'ers, was better at every starting position and the bench depth was unreal.
