http://www.earlyamerica.com/review/2004_summer_fall/soldiers.htm/ worth looking at i really had no idea about black involvement during the war, and how the Brits were offering freedom to slaves that sided with them. You know...looking back..I probably would have joined the Brits, if they offered freedom while the colonials didn't. what's that old saying..it's better to die as a free man, than to live as a slave
dunno..but im actually kinda glad some people bought up the revolution and blacks. this gave me something historic to look up, and as people who like to call ourselves 'educated,' i believe it's worth looking into. you really do NOT see this side of the war being portrayed or remembered on the 4th of July.
'Slavery' as a state of mind, not a literal physical condition. Slaves to an economic system/media propaganda/political ideology/cultural tradition, etc. Pick whatever 'shackle' is holding people back from being truly 'free', and there you will still find slavery in America. And the world.
While we're hating on dead old racist white people, I'd just like to add that Abraham Lincoln can eat a dick.
