Yes, some people can overcome, I have no doubt. Particularity by God's Grace. Others also can become numb and play it off. I read the transcript testimony of one child (now adult) who was identified as a 'Trailer-Park boy' who was sent to Sandusky on weekends by his mother to receive "fatherly influence" in her son's life. Sandusky raped that boy repeatedly in the basement. He said on the stand, "I had to just deal with it. What could I do but take it." He recited even when "he'd cry or fight him, no one came" (to that boy's rescue). Ugh, I would completely understand if the now man has shut down. And his mother...can you imagine how she feels.
Perfect example, Jordan. When he yelled: "You ruined my life! Turn yourself in. You molested me!" That's the crux right there. It proves that years passing often means nothing - a flashback can take them back to the moment, and it's like day one again. It's PTSD in the worst way. I recall a man here in Philly, 15 years later, tracked down his Pastor who repeatedly molested him, and shot him in the stomach.
And the NFL. Ask OJ. BTW, child-rapist Sandusky has received a 'warm' welcome in prison thus far. Prisoners have been chanting Pink Floyd's chorus; '..Hey Teacher!, leave them kids alone!"
IMO, they should throw his pedophile ass in with the general population and let the other inmates do what they will with him.
-Pennsylvania's public officials or retirees are required to forfeit their pensions under the State Employees' Retirement System (SERS) if they commit "certain crimes that breach the member's duty of faithful and honest public service." The list does not include sex crimes. this has nothing to do with a general rule that you keep your pension regardless (in the state of PA at least), and everything to do with how sex crimes are viewed. Considering sex crimes are more likely to happen to women, you can draw your own conclusions about the motivations behind such law scribing. if you know the law and are aware that your pension will be forfeited if you commit crimes, no one should feel any remorse. once you start paying into it, you are agreeing to those terms. time to hold people accountable for their actions.
Agreed. In the meantime, it's nice to know he's living in somewhat dreaded fear. Welcome to the world of your victims, shithead.
