there's definitely an added layer of stress with dealing with IR, but all u can do is stand your ground

the fact that our skin color can set off so much emotion....:smt102

Probably 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Comes back to the motivations and confidence someone has in their own personal self when entering into a relationship.

Some people will buckle to critique and some will make it water off a duck's back.

The way I approach it is I'm a grown adult and no other person gets a say about my personal life unless they are paying my bills or giving me a piece of ass.

If they are not then get the hell out of my way.

We live in a society where people have different opinions and feelings about other races and culture. I believe in just not taking stuff to the heart.

Very good point you mention there. I feel the very same way. I am someone who realizes everyone will have their own views, interests and positions, even one's that are counter to mines.

But at the end of the day, there are billions of us on this journey of life and no sense in dwelling on every little thing. Just make the most of the time we have on this earth.

My grandmother was a maid in the house of a british couple when my country was a british colony. She never liked white people and said they were morally loose whatever that meant. I remember visiting her with a white woman and if looks could kill my ladyfriend would have died instantly. She was my favourite granny and i couldnt have the heart to tell her she was being predjudicial.

I called out my friend's sister for saying racist things towards hispanics. I have many hispanic friends. No hispanic was around, but i know if my friends heard what she said, they'd be quite offended. I dont talk to her much now lol thank god lol she was the epitome of a bigot

I freely admit that I haven't called it out as much as I should have.

I did call out my cousin recently. This guy is about as militant as one can get and he seems to think anyone who is not black is racist. With all of his racist comments, he not only believes that he's not racist... The fool actually thinks he's justified in feeling the way he does. I'm convinced that he thinks racism can only be committed against blacks.
