Has anyone heard of a book called "Swirling:How to Date,Mate,&Relate,Mixing race, culture and Creed" by Christelyn D. Karazin and Janice Littlejohn?

Author runs a blog that is mostly pro BW/nonBM IR and anti BM IR.

Are you serious? No beuno. :-(

PER the book, why they excluded BM/WW in their research of 'IR' is baffling to me. [IMG]

And who uses "swirl" in their Title to explain IR.

Then on top chooses a bland, uncreative drawing of an ICE-CREAM as the cover? (that frankly looks more like a piece of poo)

LOL, tell me about it bro.

Anyone who needs something like this in order to date another person based on race needs therapy sessions about their prerogatives and approach to life.

Interracial is no great mystery, you see someone, you like them, you speak to them, you see what you have in common with them, your mutual feelings is reciprocated and you kick it and go from there.

    This isn't quantum physics here.

Writings like this work have a certain demographic that it is catering to.

    Ask ourselves this

Is there a white woman book on how to date black men
Is there an Asian woman book on how to date white men

    Think about it.

Imagine sitting there reading a book on how to get a white woman, while the real world is moving along. ROFL.

That is the site and the below quote justifies why she feels the way she does.

    Any ideas, opinions, suggestions?

All I'd have to say to you all is good luck with the pursuit of dating inter-racially. Honestly, I don't even think about women as often as I used to now because things are stacked against us.

Basically being with any other woman besides a black woman warrants a serious problem.

So does this statement mean you are no longer open to interracial dating now?

Yep, where the white women at. :smt043:smt043:smt043

That site was boring me after a while, those ladies need to date whomever they want and live life, or they will just go on and on incessantly being miserable and insecure about life.

    That shit never looks good.

Hopefully it brings them some happiness because they sound like they have a boatload of issues to sort out about their own personal state of mind.

It seems like the site had an agenda of attacking black men who they feel are not uplifting black women and making them worthy to the world, so girl screw black men and go get you a non black man at all cost.

I never understand why some folks seem to make interracial a game of one upsmanship, its just two human beings that like each other, do you. This is not that complex.

No. I just know what the problem is.

I'm not closing myself off from interracial relationships because it may just mean that we simply can't get companionship with any woman at all since black women don't have complete interest in us because it appears as if we've moved away from them first before they moved away from us.

Clearly interracial relationships are something he definitely should not be getting involved in if he's going on about "the deck being stacked against up" and "serious problems" unless you only date black women. If this whole time he only had interest in interracial relationships was because he only saw it as a success status thing then not good, since he seems particularly focused on seeing things from that level more times than not.

That's not the reason why. For about half this past semester in my African American studies class, my professor (a black woman) spent some time talking about it. She talked about black men dating white women and the same black girl in the class (the one with the Adidas workout pants that I talked about in the other thread) kept complaining. She sits next to a white guy in the class and is friends with him. She didn't bother to be friends with me. Other times the professor talked about black history, politics, the state of the black community and inequalities like money.

If you have empathy for another group of people, you would understand.

And I didn't say that the deck was stacked up, I said that things are basically stacked against us.

Why so surprised? Seems like typical Mikey M.O. to me.
Little dude could be persuaded to any garbage as long as it is well written. He has clearly from many of his posts lately, been drinking the cool-aid. He buys into bizarre and empty arguments w o critically analyze them just because it sounds good. I could probably convince him that there is a correlation between the price of bananas with the price of oil if I write it convincingly enough.

Actually, went to a lecture where a statistician did exactly that just to prove the point that just because you can show a correlation doesn't mean it is real and mean anything at all. It was a very cool lecture. Mikey should have seen it.

Quit worrying about what other people think if you choose to date interracially. You have already put yourself at a disadvantage by constantly fixating upon what other people may think about your dating choices.

But if it's your own family members, then it makes sense. Me and my mom don't even talk about it, and she's a little more okay with me dating other minorities but still at a little unease with white women.

You basically told me before that their opinions on who I'd choose to be with were irrelevant.

Mikey you over-analyze things way too much.

The world is full of complexities, oddities and idiosyncrasies.

Only you can navigate your way through it, no one else. Better to do it on your terms than those of others.

You have to know what you want in life, what your goals, pursuits and interests are and embrace them.

Looking at other folks only leaves you insecure and lacking confidence in yourself to call your own shots.

So if you date interracially as a Black man that means you no longer have empathy for others or your own community? Really?? If you believe that then definitely do not date interracially never mind marriage.........

You're right. I guess that's why the same few people on here get upset when I'm making these kinds of posts. And yes, the world is not a perfect place. There's a whole bunch of things wrong with it. And I know what I want in life, it's that the race of the person is not primarily what I'm attracted to. There's something unexplainable about particular females that I really like and that transcends race. That's why I have the views that I do on here. And yeah, you're right about me worrying about others.

No, it doesn't mean that. I read some of the comments on that site and one of the posters there said something similar to that.

Yeah Mikey does sway with the wind direction too much.

I totally comprehend the family dynamic Mikey, but one day you will be a grown ass man that will have to call your own shots, what then.

Will you still vacillate on your decision making based on outside influences.

That is no way to live life. A man is better served to exude confidence, assertiveness, being forthright, along with intelligence when dealing with others.

If being happy to you amounts to you pleasing your family and doing what they think you should do with your life rather than what you should do with your own life then you do what your family members tell you that you should. If you consider yourself an adult you will make your own choices in life good or bad despite what loved ones tell you because if they actually cared about you then they will let you be who you are even if it's someone they themselves would not choose to be. Just my two cents.

Well...his first preference are biracial women. So...the question is...what sort of biracial mix are we talking here?
