I love Big Bang Theory. I have the first four seasons on DVD and I plan on buying season five once that comes out as well. I can already tell that it's going to be one of those shows that I marathon once a year, like The Wire or Arrested Development (the first season, anyway). As for the show not having any black people, who cares? As long as the show is funny and keeps me laughing I don't care what color the cast members are.
So basically go along and be a fan like everyone or you're negative? You can like it and watch it thats but whats wrong with me not liking it? I swear this place is like 1996 for me, totally hs. Either like what the cool kids like or youre being negative. Careful kids you migjt be actually have youre own individual opinion lpl.
BBW & Satyr, you hit it on the head! This sitcom has a dark skinned person who could not get any nookie unless he gets high. I would love for a brother who is smart and take the babes from Sheldon. Otherwise,it is a show that sucks big time with joke that are not even funny.
Oh no, that's not it. Whenever I watch shows like that, even once, my only impression is "How many IQ points can you lose watching this garbage?" It has nothing to do with going against popularity or pop culture. It simply lacks any appeal to me, as do a lot of cookie cutter made for TV sitcoms. They aren't what they use to be and plus, the humor is as plain and not so smart. I think satyr's being sarcastic. But I could be wrong.
I don't think anyone cares whether or not anyone else likes the show. It was your negative response that prompted myself and Sin to say something. Dislike the show all you want, but when you state the reason you did, I'm going to call BS on it and tell you you have a negative attitude about something that I would say is not that big of a deal since it's not real life. I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I don't take situations in sitcoms seriously. If I did, I wouldn't count Friends as one of my favorite shows since they continuously got Ross's profession wrong, but I understand why they had to do it (for jokes and laughs). I choose not to nitpick at that type of stuff because it's not worth it in the end. If we all chose to nitpick at every little thing, you know what? Not one person on this planet would find happiness with anything. It's a sitcom. Laugh. Or don't. But don't try to use it as social commentary. That's not its purpose. It's like those "very special episodes" that some sitcoms used to have. They got made fun of because that's not what a sitcom is supposed to do...
So I should dislike it for reasons you deem fit? Obviously Im not the only one who thinks that way about the show. Not asking for you or Sin to agree but at least respect my freedom to form my own opinion. And like I said if they were making fun of middle aged women you'd be singing a different tune
yall crack me up! black people get so pissed off at racism but knock something cause there are no black people in it. sounds suspect to me. so does this mean you don't watch movies or other tv shows cause there are no blacks in them? give me a break, get off your high horse cause your sounding like a bigot. you want to love up on white women but then get mad cause you don't see blacks in a tv show? im laughing at you clowns while i smoke on some white widow.
Sorry but,it does suck to the max. That mainstream show is not diverse enough and as long as Blacks are not in control or input on show then it is still a sitcom written by White Males.
Interesting critique of the show from an Indian person. http://nimbygirl.wordpress.com/2011...-modern-media-the-big-bang-theory-and-beyond/
Just imagine if this had an all black cast and some white people said they wouldn't watch it because there weren't enough white people on it. :smt101
