What the Skinny think about the fat...It's ok to be fat!!

I just don't see why people concern themselves so much with other people. So what if their skinny. So what if their fat. So what if their healthy, so what if their not. People should be entilted to live their livess however they see fit. Alot of things people do are not healthy and our risky. So what's it's their life. Could you imagine someone telling you whather you had the right to have sex with other people, have plastic sugrery, eat bad foods regardless of weight and health, where you can live, what work you can do, etc.... Let others make their own choices. They have to live with them, not you.

Let people do what they want, and have them deal with any consequences from their actions that may present themselves as a result.

There's no point in debating about weight/obesity. Nothing can really be done or salvaged.

Well, people have their views and it's hard to get people to change them to what is perceived to truly be the right thing.

Here's one example. Tamstrong and Bookworm believe that college is not of significant importance (read that in another thread), but President Obama's political goal is for the United States to regain the lead in college graduation by the next decade because he believes that the nation could become more economically competitive with other ones. There's a contradiction between some people on this site and what Obama wants, but there's no point to debate with them/others that agree with them since all it would (hypothetically) lead to is insults and negative reps and me being called a know-it-all.

Same thing with obesity. They probably react the way they do on this forum because they can't really "change" themselves even if they tried. They're content with the way their body/figure appears.

 

Or just dont participate. No one is forcing anyone to read or post in this thread. Which btw has been extremely tame outside of those who insist on making it into something its not.

It wasn't my intent to drive this topic away from skinny/obese people, just to make an explanation towards TDK. Anyways, you should come up with a way to contradict my points instead of just talking about numbers. You haven't proven anything.

Our country is not doing enough and you/few others are ultimately brushing the whole idea aside. If people aren't going to college, who would be there to guarantee that we have smooth roads to drive on, national infrastructure that's in good condition, and medical/health care services? The majority of people obviously need to go to colleges because colleges provide public, essential services and basic needs for the welfare of everyone in the country.

And for the record, if college isn't on anyone's minds, then there are vocational trades which people can build a skill. There are opportunities. It's a matter to being crafty and the power of persuasion.

 

Nothing to do with it, but it's just there as a citation so it doesn't look like I'm plagarizing.

So, how's this theory? If we have many college graduates who are employed in the medical/health care field, then obesity would be less of a problem and the general health of all Americans, collectively would be better since many aspects of our health care system would be better and more efficient.

You missed my point. There's already enough people who are in blue-collar jobs and do things such as being plumbers, repairmen or electricians. I understand the importance of that. We're losing white-collar jobs, and some companies are considering outsourcing those kinds of jobs to other countries because the companies are explaining that our country's skills in terms of mathematics isn't good enough for their standards. HP (Hewlett Packard) has already planned to outsource jobs overseas for the reason that I just explained here.

That's why you'd have to go to college, so you'd get access to higher level mathematics courses.
