My ex-husband spent ALL his time playing pc games. And it was the main reason of our divorce. I can take care of my son, who is 3 years old, but i don't understand why should i do the same for the man, who is older than i am. I did all the house work myself, everything. I worked. I took care of my child and yes, of my ex. He just played his games.
At first he was an interesting person, the last year of our living together he behaived like a teenager.

As long as its not addicting or anything I see nothing wrong with a guy relaxing a playing a video game for a while, especially if he is a mature responsible adult who is handling his duties and responsibilities as a man.

you are absolutely right. if its not addicting. but who can give a garantee that just relaxing will not become the addiction?

Leisure time is always something we all yearn for. Not doing anything and keeping yourself occupied with pleasurable activities. :p

When it comes to gaming its just something I do once in a while to relax or kill some time, I am not that hardcore of a gamer more of a casual gamer I guess and when it comes to porn might watch once ina while also but never all the time to become addicted.

No, never..but the kids of my sister did it(games- not porn, of course) :smt042 way too much. It's one reason of our weight problem of young people, too less sport activities and people get socially isolated, not good at all.

MissWacy, i'll dissapoint you now) I also can play pc games, like Left4Dead, Killing Flour, Mass Effect, etc, but not all my time. And if there a choice between going somewhere and playing, i'll choose to go somewhere.

Theres a limit for everything. If it aint video games, it could be anything else occupying your man's time. Women who demonize my interests because they arent shared by women get a free ticket to the front door.

Step 1. Discuss how much free time is acceptable for you and your man

Step 2. Dont worry about what that time consists of, so long as its safe and doesnt disrespect each other..

For me, games are just a way to relief stress, pass time or just have some fun. I've dated gamers, kicked their butts in some games (they sucked anyways :p) or curled up with them to watch. I don't get very into the games myself, but I do enjoy watching.

I can see a "divide" in the socioeconomic classes and how often children actually go outside and play with each other. Often here in the lower class neighborhoods, more children go outside and find entertainment for themselves because there might not be anything to do inside (or, the place could be crowded, and outdoors was a better option).
Moving into the neighborhoods with more money... less children are outside. They may still be social, but in each other's homes because of more indoor space (this is an assumption...). Because the families often have more money, it means the children could get whatever game system they want (and games to go with it)... this ability to buy the games lead to children wanting to stay in and play the games alone.

When I was in middle school, my school bus picked each of us up at our door (Deaf school, kids scattered across the city, bus stops would've been silly...). The bus driver would come to get me, then make his way to each of the other student's homes. When we got to the poorer area of the city, I'd actually become envious because of how the kids actually looked like they were having fun, compared to my area when I could go for a walk and never see anyone outside unless they were going to/from their car, or gardening.

Granted, even though I never turn down "in person" social time for games... I still 'ignore' the family and "rudely" play games (bejewelled lol) when I'm out :p, but it just helps me not feel left out of conversations I can't keep up with and saves me from boredom :p Like, I'd go out for dinner with the family, but spend the entire time texting/playing games. Beats sitting there trying to play tennis and missing every word said :D

^ This is when gaming isn't "cool" anymore... when the partner ends up becoming another kid to take care of. When the games have higher priority than everything else.

I think it is just a symptom of how our modern society abhors genuine masculinity, and how it is confusing a whole generation of men.

Over the past 40 years there has been a strong concerted effort to demonize masculinity, due to the false notion that masculinity by its very nature, oppresses woman.

So, what we have now is a generation of men who don't know how to properly express their masculine energy, so they turn to extreme outlets like too much porn and too much game playing.

nothing wrong with porn or games everyone have something that enjoy doing for passing time
If this does not end up your life only, and can have a limit then all good.

well stated. I would also add that that wave of femine men back in the 90's like the metrosexual wave and that simp book called "men are from mars and women are from venus".....just took the manhood from dudes...now dudes are going way over board on the other side
