    Pffft. They'll get a little boost in sales from all the media hype and attention this generates and then interest and sales will drop once the initial reveal is done. Same as with all the little stunts and events they've been doing for the last few years.

    straights vs gays

    gay superheroes will have to register with the feds, and be subjected to possible exploitation, while the straights won't..

    I agree with you that its disingenuous but I think there would be a market if they created a totally new character rather than messing with a beloved character. I also agree that if this shit ever made it to film it would make Green Lantern look like Dark Knight in terms of box office sales.

    You ask that question to some of my family member or my homeboys white girlfriends racist family...and they would say they are being forced into accepting the relationship. Im sure you have family members that feel the same, but may not vocalize it.
