wondering if anyone uses a natural herbal sweetener like stevia in their diet. It's just been legalised in the UK and it's being distributed as a sweetener under Truvia and Purevia, albeit with additives. Upon further reading of usage of the sweeteners in the US, I discovered some reported nasty side effects from the branded products and thus wondered if anyone uses the actual stevia plant extract. I would really appreciate any feedback upon their usage of it.
I use pure stevia extract, or agave nectar or even maple syrup for sweetening. I like all of them but agave is my favourite.
I used stevia a couple of times when I was trying to reduce my sugar intake and it was the most disgusting tasting thing I've ever had. LOL I had to throw it out...complete waste of money. Now I don't bother. There's not enough sugar in my cuppas to worry about using artificial ones. You should buy the smallest amount you can and try it a few times to see if you like it (or can get use to it). No harm in trying it.
I use Stevia and like the taste. One drawback is that it can work as a natural birth controller. So if you are trying to get pregnant, it may affect your chances. Of course, do look into it.
I just use the white sugar i don't eat sweets everyday plus i have black coffe i dont drink my coffee with sugar at all no milk or cream either i hardly take any sugar during the day i guess what ever the food have only .. i dont think i need to cut any but was nice to read about this never heard before
Just honey with tea and cane sugar with my espresso, although I'm trying to cut back as much as I can. Never tried agave, though. Maybe I'll give it a shot the next time I hit the grocery store.
try the tea with no sugar at all and the coffee this way better already i find the tea and coffee too sweet as it is
I use Truvia and like the taste much more than Stevia but its still questionable... http://www.foodrenegade.com/is-truvia-healthy/
One more reason to dump HFCS and come to the natural side.... The study appeared in the Journal of Physiology. http://news.yahoo.com/sugar-dumb-us-scientists-warn-190918006.html
I use Truvia too. That's all I've been using since January, actually. Thanks for this informative link -- didn't know about all the additional chemicals and had no idea CC owned it. Truly suspect now.
Sometimes, I don't even look for harmful, uh, things that may be present in the foods I eat; it has a nigga questioning everything. Damn, I need to stop using that four letter term. :smt011
and, apparently, I'm innumerate as well. Maybe I should start looking for harmful shit in my foods more critically. fucking retard
