So who's doing the vilifying? Do you realize that you have basically reduced everyone else here and their experiences that they have had in life dealing with various interracial realities themselves to nothing because you want to elevate this guy as some all knowing expert on matters because he claims to be "world traveled" and he sounds intelligent? SMDH.

Mikey, BW who runs sistahwise sounds mentally unstable. She's deliberately looking to find examples in movies where Black women are marginalized and WW are 'exalted' in their relationships with BM.

She is angry because the 'Red Tails' movie wasn't Black romance. She skewers 'The Brothers',( you only have to watch this movie or read a synopsis to understand this chick who started this website is deranged!) because she found ONE scene where a BM and WW were shown on a date - the ENTIRE movie was about BM and their interpersonal relationships among themselves and other BLACK WOMEN.

She finds offense not only with BM interacting with WW on screen in a minor storyline, this crazy cuckoo is upset if a BM and WW are in the BACKGROUND of a scene interacting in a pleasant manner.:smt021

It's an easy cliche for filmmakers to portray BW as 'difficult', but that stereotype hasn't been created in a vacuum. The creator of the site sistahwise is confirming all those negative impressions about BW because of here paranoia and intolerance of the presence of ANY WW interacting in a movie with a BM.

THe more I read the more deranged and angry she sounded.:smt087

Better be careful Mikey, or you're gonna grow to become a militant Black feminist.lol

I'm not reading 15 pages of whatever the fuck this thread is about. I just want to make it known that I consider all the WW on this site to be my personal property.

No, I wouldn't become one of those. However, there are simply too many movies that she cites justifying that she sees something subliminally going on. Her tone on her site might be poor, but her argument is strong enough to justify that's there is a serious problem which exists that we don't really have the power to confront, unfortunately.

I simply think that part of the problem is rooted within the way our country's culture and values are. Americans inherently like to wage war and creating conflict. We're anarchic, and our society reflects those values. Think about the war in Iraq for instance. When they polled people on phones, most white people wanted to wage war with the country, while most blacks and a few stated that they shouldn't go in. Afterwards, our country basically destroyed up Iraq. Infrastructure was destroyed, people died, and it was huge expense to the taxpayers to rebuild Iraq today. They even stated afterwards they bombed the wrong people, it should have been Afghanistan.

This is an Alexis thread anyway, so it was intended to cause people to argue with each other. She even tried to do that with her posts earlier.

We all do, we all have. And I haven't reduced the value of their realities.

Mikey, she cites movies like 'The Brothers' where almost all the main BM characters are intimately interacting with BW, yet she's got a beef because ONE BLACK MALE is shown having dinner with a WW!!

Or because in a movie about adolescent Black kids where there's hardly any female interplay White or Black, she trips because ONE BLACK KID smiles at his White teacher!!lol
SHe's paranoid and is one of those BW who goes off the deep end whenever she's sees any representation of a BM and WW even friendly with each other.

I mean, come on, most of her 'examples' were the interaction of WW/BM in the BACKGROUND OF A SCENE. We're talking about EXTRAS in a movie. What the fuck is that about??lol

There's are words for people who ALWAYS see something subliminally going on in the background of movies; delusional schizophrenic.

Do you know why you catch so much heat from people on this forum? It's because you as a person who is currently not and have not been in a relationship period let alone an interracial one, regularly comes onto this site and arrogantly dismisses the opinions and experiences of people who actually have been or are currently in an interracial relationship or marriage because those opinions & experiences do not live up to some "intellectual" high standard of value that you seem to want to apply to people and their opinions who post here. It's the reason why some of us are "defensive" on this site where ignorant & racist individuals who have issues with interracial relationships particularly between white women & black men regularly love to pop up to spread their ignorance and venom. So break it down for me how you think you haven't reduced the realities of those of us who are in interracial relationships when you have said yourself on more than one occasion you post things up at times just for the hell of it to get under peoples' skins and how is that different from what the damn trolls do?

Ok, maybe you're right. However, I'll see in a few days if I can download a free copy of one of the movies that she talks about on a torrent site and watch it so we can get to the bottom of this.

Honestly, I could care less about catching heat on here from the same few people. Jaisee did say that it is just a "forum", and the whole thing is not that serious. Why not just be yourself? We all are. I think you need to admit that if I was 40 years old and trying to act smart and not 20 years old, I wouldn't be catching heat from a few people. The younger the person is (online), the more hostile the environment is for that person and that's a simple consequence of the Internet. I wrote a big research paper on it already for my info tech class. I've been here this whole time, said all kinds of things and haven't been restricted, pardoned or banned. It'd be natural that I'd catch heat. And as a matter of fact, it's the same small set of people that are mad anyway. If I were to see them face to face, I most likely wouldn't like them either. The majority of the site doesn't care, Ra. To your second point about relationships, I could get into a relationship with a girl (of any race) through my athletic abilities, over a 3.0 GPA, and employment with a company. I would have the confidence to handle adversity from outsiders who see the relationship anyway, as long as it doesn't escalate to physical harm. Robert Griffin III managed the same thing. He has a high GPA in school, stellar football skills and a white girlfriend. There's nothing wrong with that. But Alexis talks about liquor, spinning rims, basketball/air jordans, kool aid and blunts. That's representative of the underclass of BM, not all of them, and not BM like Robert Griffin, others and myself.

I read no further than this because I know everything after was just rambling self serving bullshit that makes sense only to you in an effort to justify your continuing to post whatever you feel like posting. So keep doing you and hope and pray it helps you get through life. Good luck to you.

No need unless if really want to see the whole movie. Here is the scene (under 3 minutes) from "The Brothers"

Notice that sistahwise makes no mention of the WW defending BW and WW about not wanting to put up with BS men.

    Hold up!

Are you telling me someone used a two month old wordpress blog (with the default tagline still unchanged) filled with poorly written, poorly spaced, psychotic bullshit as a citation for a fucking research paper?

I'm calling your bullshit. Either that student is bullshit, your school is bullshit, or your teacher is bullshit. You have a better chance of winning an Olympic marathon than somehow finding this site from a web search, so either you, your classmate, or someone they know created sistahdumb.wordpress.com .

Call me crazy...but I firmly believe this "Sistuh Wise" person may have had a few experiences where a lot of men she fancied simply didn't find her attractive and looked elsewhere. Hence, her venting and continuous ramblings. I love the idea of having pride in oneself, but there's a fine line to draw between having pride out of love, and pride out of hate. This woman speaks to the latter.

I'm serious. She was a skinny BW who made the presentation, and she wore a black shirt with the Towson logo on the front, with black Adidas workout pants. She explained what the site was during the presentation. I didn't have to do a search through the internet.

No way, I didn't create that website. In my defense, the site I've taken time to create was this:
    http://www.runmikesandy.blogspot.com

It's pretty low-key, I haven't really "released" the site out yet, so nobody knows it even existed. Interesting that you brought it up though.

Notice how she demonizes BM/WW relationships but at the same time says that she enjoys watching Billy Bob Thornton & Halle Berry cherish one another in "Monster’s Ball". It's that kind of blatant double-standard that makes those of her ilk lose any and all credibility.

    What the fuck was that?

Decades ago when I was growing up, young Black people cut their teeth on love songs.* Brothers weren’t “too proud to beg” us to stay, and they’d even camp out on our door step just to keep us “from walking away.

She's basing her concept of love on '80s love songs? Well no wonder she's unhappy. I pretty much figured out life isn't like the shit you see and here in American media. When I was like 6 and watched Mary poppins. Art imitates life it isn't it.

I don't know this girl but I'm pretty sure there's a medication for all of that.

So someone has created their own blog site to post their opinions on I see? I sure hope that the someone is not ignorantly drawing unwanted or unneeded attention to this site by posting that they some times participate on this site, considering some of the ignorant troll generated posts they have co-signed on this site and are now trying to claim they only co-signed just for shits & giggles and not because they actually thought they had some intellectual merit.
