dont need the first black bond. how about making a good action flick with a black man in the lead role and blacks get off their asses and support it...
Denzel already did it, to great effect, in Safe House. I recommend that film to everyone. As for actually playing Bond, I like Jeffrey Wright for that role, but he's already been put in the Bond series as Bond's CIA buddy.
Jamea Bond is a code name like Bosley in Charlie's Angels. Anyone can do it. PersonallyI thibk a great Bond would be Idris Elba. Already got that British accent the chicks love
This. I don't wanna see a white Blade. I don't wanna see a black Leatherface & Hewitt family. And a white Goku failed.
So can Morris do a British accent or are you just throwing up a Black man that you just want see in a movie?
I agree with this, but if they were going to cast a black man in the role, I agree with a couple of the choices others have suggested... Both excellent choices for the role. I love Morris, but I can't see him playing James Bond. I can see him doing some other things though...:smt047
Why does he have to be white? James Bond has had four incarnations and they're all just British MI6 agents that's it. Its not like Superman or Batman. The guys who play James Bond are literally other men who adopt the code name.
You liked safe house? I didn't think it was Denzel's best work. Having said that I agree with someone earlier who said that they should just make a totally different bond-type movie with a great cast etc... I'd def like Will Smith in this type of movie... I guess the only thing he did even close to this was Enemy of the state
why does he have to be the first black guy? I get your point if I knew the details of the story then I will give a more intelligent answer besides "tradition". Im sure people would be in an uproar if he was rolled out as a black guy. Look how they are acting over a drink
You're right. I agree that it wasn't necessarily Denzel's best, but I always enjoy his morally ambiguous characters more than his "audience friendly, this-is-for-the-ladies" type of roles. I would rather see Idriss or Chiwetel, or Jeffrey Wright in a role like that than Will. He's very Hollywood and a good actor when given the right role, but I'd like a gritty lesser-known actor in that type of role.
