Oh c'mon BBW, where is your sense of sensibility. I can respect when you defend the defensible - but don't defend our VP for donating a paltry $369. LOL, for shame.

To be fair he could have possibly given more but didnt keep receipts for it. You can only clqim what you can prove especially at there level.

Meh. ... Whenever I see something about how conservatives give more money to charity I start calling shenanigans. As it's been previously said, tithing doesn't count. If you're a member of a church, temple, etc you're expected to give at least 10%. It's really that simple. How can that be considered charity? I'm gonna give my mega-gazziollion dollar church a few million but deny money to help the homeless or the infirmed. Where's the charity in that? Not saying Romney did or didn't do that. But, it is usually how it goes with conservatives.

Lastly, stories like this are just diversions. They're written to make you like him personally so you'll support him. Well, that's the sucker's bet. It should never be about the personality. It should always be about policies.

I don't care if Romney bank rolled food for all the poor people in the country out of his own pocket. His policies are the same policies that wrecked our economy in the first place. I'm not voting for that. Ever.

I'm not. I've already considered him cheap. But then again, with the sort of money he made, how much did he spend annually for his own income?

I'm merely throwing around a lot of guesstimations for his paltry donations, but don't rule it out just yet.

in the bigger scope of things donations doesnt mean you will be a good leader of this country. also if you want to talk about donations.....they are talking about cutting HUD and other social programs and reducing pell grants (GOP)

Yah, LAW, we know we know, plus BBW already mentioned it in his post.

But its an illogical excuse. "Here's millions so I can save thousands". I'm sure Biden was thinking of that very "Romney gets a tax break!!" excuse when he licked his pen and wrote a check to "Dear Charity, here is only $369. Don't spend it all at once. Love, your VP".

SMH... for those of you who haven't worked on a complicated tax return...

For a tax return of 42 million an accountant who specializes in the intricacies of tax law from GAAP to IGAAP and everything in between, if he donates 12 million the accountant at the very least can save him 12 million (yes the same amount that he just donated).

LOL! :D Slight concession. Me likes.

*sigh*, I think we should take up a collection in this thread and give it to the VP to donate...just to spare him further humiliation. :p

Romney makes millions more than Biden. Let's not forget that Biden lost his wife when his boys were quite young and had to raise all of them alone, on his salary. Parents weren't rich, he put himself through law school, and he was never rich from his law practice.

Clearly someone thinks it does since they went out of their way to post this. Doesn't matter if you're from the hood or the burbs, devotion to that green paper makes some people hype something out of nothing.....

I keep hearing conservatives are more charitable than libs. I wish someone will post or point out some statistics to me.

Tho Romney is financially very successful, he is not really so much of a self made man or did not exactly come from dirt. His father was a governor and his folks aren't exactly poor, he comes from money all the way from Mexico.

Crack dealers in D.C. used to give out free turkeys the week before thanksgiving too.

    It's called PR.

It's great that Romney is so charitable, but I need more than one year to decide if Biden is indeed tight with a penny or 2011 was a bad year.

BTW, shouldn't we be comparing apples to apples??

What percentage of his annual earnings did Romney donate in comparison to Obama?

    Romney is a venture capitalist.
His expertise is making companies more profitable(firing employees) and efficient(cutting manufacturing or outsourcing production) to make a return on his investor's money.

People who believe this cat knows how to create jobs better than the current administration may be in for a rude awakening.

Ummm Hmmm. This shit right here. :smt045 Neighborhood dealers would do all kinds of "good deeds" in various hoods in an attempt to nullify any of the negative shit that they did or planned to do to win over some of the easily swayed among those in the hoods.
