I would suggest merging threads, as there are a number of thread topics that have devolved into the same... fucking.... debate, arguments.

or create a singular thread, if you will, for the posting of this reoccurring and heated discussion.

While I think weed should be legalized for EVERYONE, its still currently illegal to use.

I wouldnt risk going to jail to sell it(or any drugs for that matter). These stupid idiots are risking their life to make some easy drug money. Its their own fault and I have zero sympathy for them if they get caught and arrested.

Get a job at a fast food place or something. They seem to always be hiring.

Just stop it! I have and do alter my opinion when intelligent and thoughtful posters have presented their arguments and backed it up. However this issue isn't about being "right" or "wrong" the cold statistics are in your face and STILL you bury your head, and co-sign that killers know their victims. It's bloody preposterous, and no amount of bullying by you or him will ever change the fact because I personally KNOW people murdered by someone THEY DID NOT KNOW. End of discussion from me to you!!

Public assistance may not pay as well as breaking the law but at least you can choose what and when to eat and you dont have to spend your days behind bars. Jus sayin.

Lmao bullying? Motherfucka please all I did was disagree. Im not trying to chsnge your mind about anything. As far as killers knowing their victims for the most part that shit is true. Spouses killing each other, friends killing each otger and gang violence are the vast majority of violent deaths amongst blacks and latinos. This fallacy of some overwhelming amount of people being killed by strangers is laughable.
SHOW ME NUMBERS WHERE BLACKS ARE BEING KILLED BY STRANGERS MORE SO THAN PEOPLE THEY KNOW. TAKE YOUR TIME I'LL WAIT

Sometimes it's a matter of pride. If you're growing up in a poor area and there's an option to make money by doing a job no one else wants to do... an adult might look at it as a great opportunity. Not a lot of money, but at least the money they make is their own. It's something for them to be proud of because they're not depending on public assistance.

However, there's the younger kids... the peer pressure, the wanting to fit in. At times, competing with each other, to join (or stay in) the popular crowd. If a girl/guy sees the most popular person their age on their street walking around in 'these really cool, expensive shoes' and wanting them badly... The kid could ask a parent doing the job that no one else wants to buy them but the money simply won't be there.
Instead, it leaves the kid to possibly work in the same area as their parent(s) so that they would be able to afford the shoes on his/her own... but why embarrass themselves?

They could sell drugs with the other people in the neighborhood and be "da man" on the street, the one with money and 'respect', compared to if they were working a job they were embarrassed about. For a younger person in this situation, drugs is the most attractive option, it comes with a sort of glamor that makes it much more appealing than working a job the wouldn't want to tell anyone they had.

This doesn't mean every person would rather sell drugs than have a honest job or anything like that. Just that if 'you' were younger and growing up in an area like that it seems more appealing.

Shoes are a silly example, but it's all I could think of :p

ooh Chessy;), I see that pretty simple. Nobody earns his/her money easily. Some do it quick and have a high risk (i.e. illiegal actions) and live a pretty wild life (as long as it works) and some do it slowly by daily work, with a lot of efforts and deprivations. A grown-up person can decide which way is the best for him/herself. But plz don't cry tears afterwards, what ever was your way...carry the consequences.

That people should starve in US (as I was reading) is something new to me. People in Africa and India and many other countries- them I can understand, if they earn their money with drugs and scams, they really fight for food for their kids and for them its a question, whether they are still alive tomorrow or not.

I'm going to let insult #3 go, just so you know.

You think you “just disagree? Laughable. You spent the rest of the post trying to change my mind.

DON'T BE LAZY, go to the FBI stats - look it up yourself. HE MADE THE CLAIM AND YOU CO-SIGNED. Show me where they all knew their victims? "Most" is something you just threw in to save him and make your argument. Don’t get it twisted either- just because someone watches their victim or passes them in the street every day, doesn't mean they "know" them. The guy last week who broke into the an elderly couple's home and raped and murdered the 87 yr old wife...they didn't know him, but he lived close by to them. Tell their family that the asshole killer "knew them".

Likewise, I JUST told you in my post but you don’t pay attention - I knew PEOPLE -plural - murdered by people they did not know. I told you I am ONE person with stories - there are tens of thousands of people with similar stories to TELL YOU. I do not PERSONALLY know anyone murdered by someone they knew. Now understand, I have not once said that doesn't happen because I would NEVER have the audacity to claim that - only FOOLS do that, only fools speak in absolutes. What I have done is actually SHOWN you the opposite to disprove the INITIAL claim made.
DO not use “none“, do not use "MOST' with me UNLESS you can back it with proof. You show me that all or "most" know their killers.

And as you well know (or you should since you're "in the biz"), there are programs out there that work with formerly incarcerated people to help them find jobs when they get out. And if a fast food job is all anyone can get there is a plethora of programs to help with heat, food, clothing, etc. They're out there - people have to put their pride aside and look for them.

Stealing because you are hungry is one thing. Turning to illegal activity because you're lazy or you think it's cool (and I'm sorry - I think it's more about that than pride) is a whole different ball of wax. As I said before, you can be poor as dirt and still know the difference between right and wrong. There are churches on practically every street corner in America, most of whom are prepared in some fashion to help those who are truly down and out. Breaking the law isn't a viable option or an excuse, imo.

I think that's correct.. If you sell drugs 2-3 hrs a day..how much are you gonna make? 300USD? 200% profit? That's pretty much more attractive than working, isn't it?
