Do you ever wonder how it would have ended up had Trayvon used his phone to call the police and not his girlfriend? Most 17 year olds would have done what he did but anyhow.......

Just read that. Good news. Though they have no idea what the charges will be. Hopefully they will fit the crime.

Unfortunately a lot of black people dont see the police as help. The one time I had to call 911 even thoughI knew I did nothing wrong I was terrified I would be arrested too. My mom even hired a lawyer because she was paranoid about the same thing. This case is a great example of why so many black people simply dont trust the police. In something so obvious it took national pressure and the FBI to make law enforcement do their jobs. There is so many of the public who think Zimmerman was completely justified in murdering that kid because one day he could become a threat. How isanyone suppose to believe in a justice system where the police and possible jury pool is contaminated with such racial bias.
I totally understand why calling a friend made more sense to him.

I understand completely. My bf used to have this recurring bad dream...and it involved the police. It wasn't something that had happened to him irl but a manifestation of being a bm and fearing the police. I said we don't even need a dream interpretation to understand why you are dreaming that.

I heard that without convening a grand jury Zimmerman can't be tried for 1st degree. So let's see what charges are coming.

Of course it wouldn't be 1st degree, it wasn't pre-meditated. And even if you did charge that of him, there's no way in hell you could prove it!

Second degree murder is out of the question as well....he'll be charged with manslaughter, with a sentence of 5-7 years, he'll plead out and serve 3 to 4 years in prison.

News outlets are probably adding their conjecture.

What I heard on the news also: All these happened yesterday: While Zimmerman's (ex)lawyers haven't heard from him, Zimmerman personally contacted the Special Prosecutor.
Trays parents said they trust her decision to bypass the Grand Jury, but hope she will find cause to arrest George.
The DA then said she will have an announcement on the case before 72 hours. So this at 6pm must be it already.

Very, very STUPID move by Florida's special prosecutor. With that charge, the chance that he walks without ever serving a day in jail just went up exponentially.

Zimmerman will be found guilty of manslaughter IMO and serve 5-12 years in jail, probably out on parole in 5 years.
