South Carolina teen’s brutal soccer attack

She didn't trip on her own feet and the ref said there was contact. So to paint the white girl as completely innocent is wrong.

It looks to me that there is a trip and of course we don't have the best angle. I will take the word of the ref.


Alan Parker, the referee of the match, made perfectly clear that this incident invoked a sense of violence that made it much more troubling than other girls soccer skirmishes.
"Some incidental contact ended in one girl going down and she just got up and started pummeling," Parker told WBTV.

 

It wasn't a fight. It was an assault.

Yes, the female aspect is the added shock. The aggressiveness of it. Not cool.

Sports are aggressive and fights are a part of it. An assault is much different than that. I'm sure the military guys will tell you that. It was a one sided fight. I've seen plenty of those. Was it unnecessary? Absolutely. Am I shocked at two athletes fighting? No not at all. Women/girls want to be treated like everyone else so that's what I'm doing. Had it been two guys this wouldn't be conversation worthy.

it's all part of the lifestyle..no one really talked about it afterwards, and that shit was nothing but water under the bridge. no suspensions, no booting from team, no anything

i was shocked at first at the rumble, but then i realized that i was around a bunch of bench-pressing jocks with raging hormones and accepted that lifestyle

if you don't like physical aggression, you don't need to play contact sports

You not being shocked still doesn't give the 18-year-old a pass to attack her like that over nothing. The two have no history of any animosity or even a connection. The victim is undergoing head trauma testing because of the repeated blows to her head.
Since you say women want to be treated like everyone else, then her being with charged with Simple Assault shouldn’t bother you.

 

Then we're going to need a shit ton more cops at games cause like I said fights at games happen a lot. Emotions fly high in sports and Im sorry I dont see the big deal. Maybe because Im a guy and I expect some level of violence at times. Or maybe your hung up on it because its two girls but like Petty said that shit happens amongst teammates so its no shock to see it between conpeting teams.
