http://news.yahoo.com/best-buy-sales-disappoint-cut-stores-jobs-124428386.html Im not a fan of e-shopping. I like brick and mortar because I get a chance to touch the product and I can see the person when I want to return it and trust that my money will touch my hands
I'm not surprised they are failing. Best Buy is crazy overpriced in almost every department in their store. I went there to buy some component cables and an optical mouse, the total price was $80. I thought better of it and decided against buying them. I went to Walmart and Big Lots instead and got the exact same stuff for under $40.
The one's near me are always busy. Most people, when looking for electronics, are looking for the best price because if something goes wrong you'll more than likely be dealing with the manufacturer not the store.
Good. I fuckin' hate Best Buy and every other soulless chain, megastore out there. They come into a town/neighborhood and kill off all the mom and pop electronics stores. In the end, you're left no option but to go Best Buy and get shitty service from some punk teenager who's only working there to get a discount on his car stereo and is probably going to get fired the next week. I used to live right next to a Best Buy. I spent thousands of dollars in that store in a two period, and I would still get ignored by the punk kids working there sometimes when I walked in. If I was dealing with any kind of family-owned business after spending all that money, I would have been treated well for being a repeat customer. I do all my electronics shopping online now. The service is much better.
Doubtful. It's like clothing. I need a physical place to try stuff out and in case I need to return anything I don't have to mail it. Best Buy isn't going anywhere anytime soon
I always thought the layout of Best Buys tend to suck. Plus as someone else said they're too overpriced.
Fry's Electronics>Best Buys Better selection of anime(and everything else). The people at Fry's know about the products in the section they work in.
Another thing, people are afraid of buying big items (i.e. large tv screens) only to have to sell them if they lose their job or home.
i order EVERYTHING from amazon.com although..i ended up buying my HDTV from best buy, because the price at the time was lower than amazons. those two were literally outdoing one another with the pricing.
Its no news that Best Buy is going down the tube, they have been closing stores for a while now. Like BA said, Fry's is better, but its a mess to go there. I do buy stuff there or at Tiger.com
