Well yeah, it would be more boring, but I believe there would be less forms/types of hate in the world if that was a reality.

    LOL.

Have you been to Europe or Africa lately??
'Looking' like others doesn't eliminate tribalism or ethnic hostility.:smt067

WWI and WWII were basically White on White violence to the N-th degree.

hate to say it, but like i mentioned before that's the truth

as other people have said, it's easier to focus on white people than it is to blame ourselves

i can't remember not ONE single thread here, on this very forum, which highlighted the issue of black on black violence. Yet, so many of them pop up when it involves someone non-black. One crime is as bad as the other, but come on. This shit is getting very old.

id like to see such vigor, unity and resolve when it comes to black men in the inner city murdering each other.

Maybe this unfortunate incident with Trevon will spark a national discussion with solutions to black on black crime. Similar to the Henry Louis Gates incident, if Obama is going to be engaged, he needs to address the whole issue of racial profiling rather than these one offs.

Maybe not a thread, but it was about half of the thread on the topic...

Be careful of letting people deflect what the real issue is in the Trayvon Martin case. The greater problem in Florida is the 'Stand Your Ground' law that allowed someone who admitted killing an unarmed teen to walk away free from the crime scene.

Yes Black on Black crime is a greater concern, but it doesn't change the fact that in some states you can racially profile someone as 'suspicious' and a 'threat', murder them and later claim self defense without any investigation done by the PD.
When a case exposes unequal treatment under the law against one exclusive group,(because if Zimmerman had been Black and Trayvon White, Zimmerman would still be in jail), it's an issue that's still important.

BTW, of the statistics I've read, you are more likely to be killed by someone of your own racial/ethnic background than not. Most Whites are killed by other Whites, most Asians are killed by other Asians, etc.

Solving Black on Black crime is a poverty/education/social psychology problem and there are no easy solutions to eliminate it.

Black on black crime is a platitude. The fact is 90% of the time the victim knew their killer and that killer was the same race as them. There was so-called "black on black crime" in the days of slavery.

It may be economic, territorial, or simply confrontational. As Jay said, 'where personalities clash and chrome meets chrome." But it s hardly a racial problem. Its like people imagine these drawn out urban conflicts with dark and lighter-skinned folks pitted against each other. Please. This ain't Haiti.

So appeals to racial unity fail to address the point. For instance, Rev. Jackson thinks in the wake of Travon's murder we should have a national conversation about "black pain." I'm thinking, fuck black pain, how about addressing the states passing these wild ass gun laws. You can gun down unarmed teenagers in central Florida and walk away with the murder weapon scott free? Fucking insane. Even race as a motivating factor is still rather secondary.

People inject race into it, I think, to abstract the situation as much possible. And of course draw attention away from the underlying problems: the job market, redlining, health services, huksters, etc. Plus repeating "black on black crime" allows people to constantly insinuate violent criminality is something innate or intrinsic to minorities.

That's NOT the greater problem. The real issue - a rogue wanna be cop who was off his brain. That fucker would have rammed his car into Tray and said he lost control of his vehicle.

The sponsor of the Bill said it best -

.."sometimes the application or interpretation of its use is the problem." He defended the law as important to "law-abiding citizens," but suggested, according to other reports, "that perhaps legislators should look at limiting crime-watch volunteers' ability to pursue people and confront them."

So fucking spot on. What I also dislike about the idea of black on bksck crime is that its idoated to just bring blsck as if its a natural disposition that we as black people have to correct. I dont see well to do or even trailer park white people taking on the responsibility of white people as an individualresponsibilty. Its a ridiculous attitude that puts unrealistic burdens on people who dont have control of others.

    Correctumendo!!!!
Stay your ground law does not apply to this fucker George. Stay your ground does not mean bring a gun to a job that specifically outlaws it, chase around someone in your neighborhood, harass them, instigate a fight and when the fight don't go your way turn around & shoot them. Stay your ground in fact applies to Trayvon if he killed Zimmerman.

The guy commit murder and now he wants to hide behind this law, that is a complete BS.

Who cares WHAT it's called -there are innocent BLACK MEN dying in droves.
For real, I know there are some people who just LOVE your mentality, because it deflects from that fact. You can throw up trailer- park people all day, where are their dead young white men? I want to know why MY CITY is #1 in homicides of the future generation of Black men, every year? 337 murders and you want to politicize this ish over unfair impression of violent innateness? Who gives a shit what people think. The mothers burying their sons sure as hell don't.

    real talk

instead of cherishing black lives and admitting the killing of each other is just as bad and needs to be curtailed, theyd rather tuck their heads into the sand and come out only when one of us is killed by a white person
