Hate to break it to you, sonny, but you are sorely generalizing beyond reproach. First of all, Dennis Miller is only conservative on foreign policy, hence his ardent support for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Everything else, he's pretty much left-leaning. As for the others, sure they tend to lean right, but they aren't in the same vein as Hannity and other sickening scoundrels of the right. In fact, the men you've named could be best described as centrist at best (after all, Norton voted for Obama). Right leaning is usually reserved when they don't know the difference between hope and fear. And lastly, the South Park crew are libertarians. One is a registered Republican, but they can't tolerate conservatives just as much they can't tolerate the far left. The very idea that you, and only you, seem to be bothered by a tranny picture tells me how immature you really are. Everyone else took notice, but brushed it off as one of my "BBW Moments." Yet, you insist on bringing it up like a gossipy high school cheerleader trying to get cool points. Honestly, I think you're a bigger freak than you're leading us on to be.
I don't see what's so relevant about Maher putting his own money into campaigns, since he has every right to do that. Just as much as Rush pours millions into political campaigns. The difference is that, Rush's been doing it and entered their inner circles, whereas Maher, like other Hollywood comedians, contribute money just like the rest. And lastly, you need to stop talking about yourself. The gap-tooth tranny lover happens to be the person who LOVES to bring it up like it was the most beautiful thing he graced on here and wished his girlfriend looked just like that. And that boy is named Iggy. Don't get mad that you're incapable of upholding an intellectual conversation. You're just ignorant of politics and read what's trending on the news. The only highlight or bright spot of your intelligence shows when you don't post anything on here. That keeps the IQ fairly high and leave you without ridicule. There's a reason why people see you as being immature with your cookie cutter comments. I suggest you go back and play with your baby Jesus butt-plug and pray your stupidity away. (Not like that would happen).
I don't mind being where I'm at in life. In fact, I'm more in touch with who I am, where I'm at and what I want than ever before. I wouldn't go back to your age for anything. If I've learned nothing else from being on here, it's that. You will get here one day and you will see....
It's really sad when the GOP has transformed itself into a damn near fringe party. They've already knocked off the moderates and are now trying to turn this nation into a selfish theocracy.
Wow, Santorum is knocking exactly what the Republican Party is about- less government, more privacy. Is he a closeted Lefty (or Lib) and not know it? lol.
Less government and more privacy? The less government I can kinda see...but not when it becomes a federall offense to have an abortion. And less privacy? With whom? Themselves? They are in every bodies business. If you don't have sex exactly the way they have sex...then you're bad bad bad.
Are you confusing all Republicans with Conservatives? There are many Republicans who willingly uphold the law of Roe v. Wade. What do you mean by "having sex the way they have it"? Please elaborate.
I probably am confusing them. Because it doesn't seem to be very much of a huge difference in any of them anymore. Two words: GAY MARRIAGE
From a general standpoint, she's pretty much spot on. While it's true that not all Republicans are far-right, let alone conservative, the evangelical fascist attitudes that hold the keys to the party itself are infringing upon the personal freedoms of others. Mainly women's rights and marriage equality being the main ones. Social conservatives, in other words.
There are distinct differences..that's why you have moderates, left wing nuts, right wing nuts, ultra conserves...don't plop them all in one basket. And don't think the Dems aren't in your business. Red tap and Dems are synonymous. Dems like to tell you what to eat, how to eat, where to eat, how to school, what you cant school, etc..See, there's good and bad in each equally. As for the gay marriage... An example:
From a general standpoint, she is not spot on. If the White based evangelical crowd hold the keys to the party as you say, how is it that in the Iowa Caucus, only 7% of them aligned with Santorum and 5% of the Tea party did, yet 34% aligned with Newt, yet Santorum is now leading the way? (10% aligned with Romney). It also speaks much to the Evangelicals hypocrisy about the importance of conduct of character since they backed Newt.
Everything you said is spot on. But here's a reminder: - Primaries and Caucuses generally have lower voter turnout, so while there were scores of people going out and vote, more of the Republican population were sitting at home out of displeasure. They didn't really like any of the candidates, and given the economy is a major, there's a bigger fish to catch which goes to my next point... - They are split between "Who closely aligns with my views?" vs. "Who can beat President Obama?" The other reason is the economy. That's why the points were more so skewered between the three candidates, with Santorum and Gingrich leading the evangelical vote. If 100% of the Evangelical crowd decided to go with the person who closely aligns with their views, Santorum or Gingrich would have won easily. Feelings vs. Wallet, I suppose. - Between Gingrich and Santorum, they closely reflect their personal views on matters like gay marriage and abortion, among many conservative views. So, it just reinforces Aliona's point overall by the majority picking two individuals who are outspoken on their conservative views...although Newt has some explaining to do with his bipartisan work with Pelosi. :smt111 After all, what was the hypocritical, fundie oath? As long as you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are absolved of all of your wrongdoing. The evangelical mindset really have little concern about the conservative candidates as long as they are born again or deeply involved in the Christian identity. Look at David Vitter for example.
I'm certainly not saying that one party is better than the other. I am saying that those who are extremists are definitely worse. And here's a thought: How many times have you heard of a law enacted and went: wtf? Why does THAT need to be enforced? Because there are a chosen few who CAN'T govern themselves properly. So in the interest of the over all common good..some law maker needs to enact a law to prevent having to give out Darwin awards to the most stupid amongst us. That is a FAR cry from having your individual liberties stripped just because someone doesn't agree with them.
Did Rush ever move to Cuba like he said he would if health care was passed? Shame he's such a tease. And a terrible one at that.
