Very true article. I was a 'wash my hair everyday' type of girl, who hated camping just because it meant unwashed hair Stopped using regular shampoo, been experimenting with different natural things... right now I'm using this: http://www.lushusa.com/I-Love-Juicy/9999902007,en_US,pd.html?start=1&cgid=liquid-shampoos :smt050 Honey by itself also made a good shampoo. It makes a good all-over wash, especially for the face... tasty
Honey? That just sounds like a hot mess. Hot, sticky mess. Which could be fun under the right circumstances  but not so much when I'm washing my hair. ??
*giggles* Water thins honey out, so it doesn't seem as sticky then Some mix it with olive oil as well... but then you need a little regular shampoo to get the olive oil out of your hair. Sometimes it would lighten hair as well, but I think it depends on how long honey's left in. I tried a honey/olive oil hair treatment, left it in for a half hour once a week, my hair started lightening. Before that, when I was using ONLY honey in the shower as shampoo it didn't lighten my hair at all. Guess it depends on how long it's left for.
I wash my hair every day,but i like using different shampoos & conditioner.I save the honey for other things..lol
last time I checked, we (blacks) weren't supposed to wash our hair daily because of the lack of oils present in it. With that said, I generally wash once or twice a week or more if it becomes itchy/flaky. Also depends on the type of workouts I do. If rolling with jiu jitsu, I wash everything immediately after. Same goes for field workouts or whatever.
not good to wash the hair everyday, if your hair can stay longer good with out washing them even better.. some days i wash mine every second days, sometimes every 3 days or more if i manage... also depands on what i am doing how often will be. I hate my hair i can not wash it everyday because of the curls.. the ends dry faster.... and having fine hair not the best... but on the other hand i cant brush my hair after two days and the style bad and i can not just wet my hair and brush as get worse when dry ..so when get bad like that i need to just wash my hair even my hair dont look bad..
Ideally for me it should only be about 3 times a week since my hair is curly. Like Nyx said, washing curly hair too often can dry it out, especially on the ends. Sometimes I have to wash it daily depending on what the day brings. At work customers can smoke in one of the stores, so I do wash the cigarette stink out of my hair when I get home. I also wash it after going to the gym & other times I get sweaty & gross. To try to compensate for washing it too often, I use deep conditioners every time I wash it...in addition to being curly, my hair is also thick & long so it takes deep, moisturizing conditioners to keep it healthy. I go through a lot of conditioner.
I'm more like this. I condition it a lot so it is not dry on the ends so I see no harm. I might skip a day washing but most times it's everyday. I definitely skip if I want to do the ponytail thing or pull it up in any way. My hair stays in place better.
I wash my hair every day...if I skip a day, my hair will get dry and look all greasy, so I can't skip a day...even by accidental.
will be great to wash my hair everyday but i will kill my hair if i do already have big problem as it is .... actualy i got very very soft hair even when i use conditioner i leave it only few seconds.... but mostly dry because of the hair soo fine so the ends get bad and break all the time .. that is another reason i dont straight my hair can get burn easy.. so mostly i use now Kerastase oily roots dry ends.. dont have oily hair, but this way i can keep the conditioner longer and help the ends better while the rest dont get too soft and end up oily i used to get that when i use a lot of contitioner.. still not perfect but better then some other i guess am not very lucky with the hair
Me too mama, being a fellow super long hair gal I need to wash it daily in Summer. And daily washes are a must after a long sweaty work out.
