No mother fucker, I'm not one of those stereotype Black males that both ignorant White and Black fucks like to throw out there to get their stupid ass points across. I'm married and have been for going on close to 15 years. My wife is not overly obese ghetto wanna be bottom of the barrel white trailer trash who seem to be the only kind of White women that Black men can according to you geniuses. She was not married before being with me nor did she have kids by anyone before me. We have two children, twins at that a boy and a girl 10 soon to be 11 this summer. Both are well adjusted and get along with Black, White, Hispanic, Asian and any other type people you can name that they have had the opportunity interact with. And yes they have had racial encounters with ignorant individuals both White and Black. Any other questions you have Mr. Education Everyone on Shit You Don't Know?

How did you get so messed up already???

So what if a woman has kids by another man? Relationships/marriages don't always work out. So if a woman has kids to an ex-husband, she's of no value to another man? I'm assuming that the same can then be said for the father as well? He must be of no value either since he's already fathered children with another woman.

Somebody needs to put you in your place. You come in here and tangle with people who are older, wiser, more experienced and you want to tell them the way of the world? You have nerve, I'll give you that.

Some advice: Expand your horizons and quit looking at the White man as the overall enemy when ignorant people across the spectrum are the problem. It goes a long way to helping to approaching White women without that big ass racial chip on your shoulder. There's nothing wrong with having pride in being a Black man and knowing there are fucked up things in the world that happen based on race, just don't let that shit dictate what kind of HUMAN BEING you are.

Charlize Theron is anti-marriage which is probably down to her background.

Therons mother shot her alcoholic father dead in self defence after he threatened them both while drunk in 1991.

It's probably good that all these white celebs and/or white folks are adopting black kids but it also says to me that we as African American as per usual ARE NOT TAKING CARE OF OUR OWN to the point that someone else has to now raise our damn kids!

I agree that the amount of unwanted children is distressing, but let's also remember that the statement above is also true of EVERY child that is up for adoption, not just within the black community.

both well stated but whats crazy is that there are black people mad at white people for adopting black kids but then have not adopted any themselves. It was a write up in a black mag (ebony or essence). They gave the peerson for and the person against in the article

That's true but besides from say maybe oversees Asian kids that are adopted (Chinese kids in particular), the adoptions that get the most media attention seem to be of black kids either from here or from Africa.

I think the statistics speak as to the children available to adopt and why probably, you see more celebs adopting black children. They are probably easier to adopt and there is more need. :smt102

    Statistics

Based on the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS), the fiscal year of 1998 showed that approximately 64% of children waiting in foster care in the are of minority background; 32% are white. Out of all foster children waiting for adoption 51% are black, 11% are Hispanic, 1% are American Indian, 1% are Asian/Pacific Islander, and 5% are unknown/unable to determine. Data from the 1995 National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) show that adoption of an unrelated child was most common among childless white women and those with higher levels of income and education. The most recent estimate of interracial adoption was performed in 1987 by the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) and it found that 1% of white women adopt black children, 5% of white women adopt children of other races, and 2% of women of other races adopt white children (estimates include foreign-born).[1]
The US Census 2000 found that "White (and no other race), not Hispanic children made up the majority of all categories of children of householders under 18: about 58 percent of adopted children, 64 percent of biological children" and "Of the 1.7 million households with adopted children, about 308,000 (18 percent) contained members of different races."[2]

Based on current AFCARS estimates released January 2000, there are approximately 520,000 children currently in foster care in the United States. Of these, 117,000 are eligible for adoption. (US HHS, 2000)

Historically, the number of children in foster care has increased, while the proportion of children in foster care who are free for adoption has remained constant. In 1977, as in 1997, approximately 20% of the children in foster care were available for adoption. Of the children who were free for adoption in 1977, 50% were in adoptive placements. Of the children free for adoption in December, 1982, 34% were in adoptive placements. Thus, by December 1982, 33,000 children were waiting to be placed for adoption. (Maza, 1983)
