i agree during my first summer camp for my high school team, i remember our head coach going absolutely batshit, if he didn't hear shoulder pads banging during full contact practice.. you're taught from square one to hit like a madman, so it's only natural that guys are going to bang like that. coaches train their players to develop serious power with their hits, and with that training some intense aggression. if you're afraid of some nut on defense hitting you with bad intentions, you need to play basketball.
I'm shocked that anyone is shocked that this stuff is still going on. The thing that was most shocking to me was the money. I mean only 8 grand for a game ending injury, but then I thought well he is only the DC and it is probably coming out of his pocket. With how shitty tackling in the NFL and with players going for the big hits instead of wrapping up I would not be shocked if most teams have some kind of system in place.
im just sayin when training to hit a guy so hard he fumbles the ball, you kind of look at bounties as 'whatever' bounty or not, you're looking to take a guy's helmet off every play. having a bounty just means 'hey, instead of hurting everyone, just hurt this guy' that's just the nature of the game and the type of aggression you need to stick with it, day in and day out. to anyone that hasn't trained and played organized full-contact football, bounties may seem like a big deal.
no doubt about that. It seems stupid to me that they are bitching about this. the league will not acknowledge the longterm effects of concussions but are all over this bounty shit
lol im just sayin..all you gotta do is spend some a few days in training camp, and you'll see how aggressive coaches want you to be. Everyone had to pound the solo sled, and if the coach didn't see some serious aggression and drive, you'd get a lashing. You squared up and and drove it back like there was no tomorrow. It's all part of the game IMO. Like the one guy who's suing over concussions said, every time he took a hit he was screaming. But the football culture is one of blood, sweat, and tears, so you look down on whiny ass bitches. You smile upon hard hits, playing injured, and giving all you got.:smt069
