It can be hard to attempt to decipher our language, I completely recognize that.

But I'd like to add that a smile is not just nervous or interested, it's also something that I do because I enjoy smiling. The reason I bring this up is because I am naturally friendly and willing to chat with people and everywhere I go there is always one creeper who thinks I'm interested and turns into a stalker type situation. In fact, it's already happened here in NY at my place of work/school. It really pisses me off because now I have to deviate my schedule to avoid him, and I have to be rude to him so he f&*ks off and leaves me alone. Why can't I just be friendly and smile and not have some creep stalk me as a result??? Damn it's bloody annoying.

I understand that dating can be and is confusing. And that yes, signals can be hard to read. Women vary. That thing about only showing interest after being pursued is case in point. I don't like to be pursued unless I like him or have a minimal interest in being pursued. It will never be that he tries 5 times and on the sixth time he's successful.

The ones who take the smallest gesture and turn it into a huge love affair are hands down creepy. And Athena has a major point. I hate to be rude. If someone approaches me and I either don't respond or decline outright...then leave me the fuck alone. It will not go anywhere despite repeated attempts.
