I hate to be cynical but a lot about this is bothering me:


Shame on him. Maybe to him $280,000 is like buying a $2800 used car would be for almost everyone else, but still. It looks like he is trying to buy love. Not good to do at any age, let alone at the beginning of his twenties.

How did this get to the press? If she is so shy and quiet why didn't she just turn it down quietly and not tell her friends or anybody and just move on?

Good point...I re-read it and it doesn't say why this went to press. I can only surmise that a 21st Birthday is a big event for anyone, and since her B/F is so high-profile, the media were naturally inquisitive of what he bought her.

One thing that totally stood out to me about this whole thing is of course she's from the UK. This isn't something you'd likely hear about in the US. I'll give you two guesses why.

 

This story is WAY old. Always thought he could do better. He is an attractive man. She is very generic looking; by English standards; I don't know what it's like in the States.

She was just a shop girl when she met him. I am sure, if the story is true......turning down the car at this point won't haunt her. She'll have plenty of expensive cars from him later.

 

I believe her father is a Mayor. So she's no 'poor' girl.

 

Lol I've been to England as recently as 2007 and she's hot by English standards too in my opinion. There are some hot women there but it ain't Denmark or Iceland.
