the next one would be randy moss http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...2/02/14/gIQA1rCLDR_blog.html?wprss=rss_sports he must have looked at his check balance yesterday
Why is it always black guys. Why. I just don't get it. I think they over inflate the numbers though. I'm sure its closer to 51 million after agent fees and taxes but that's still a shit ton of money. God help us. One story of one black athlete turning that money into an empire would be nice.
Don't forget Magic Johnson. He made lots of money after sports. http://www.forbes.com/2010/04/21/magic-johnson-entrepreneurs-management-wharton.html Hoping someone will think of the other guys name. There was a video about him and his business. He has been in more than one thread here though not just the one with business but several with pics of his wife, who is white. Hmmm...big brain bubble on his name.
The broke White athlete referenced on this board I believe is Saints backup QB Mark Brunell. If I were an owner of a professional sports franchise, I would have a mandatory contractual clause in every player's contract that they take a course in Financial Planning in the offseason. These guys IMO live for the moment and at the same time think that 'moment' is going to last forever. Who remembers back in the day when BROKE Mike Tyson used to give away Bentleys to homeless dudes?? The level of fiscal mismanagement by some of these pro athletes is almost on the level of self-destructive behavior. TDK, this is why I said that GIants Olineman in another thread wasn't really a millionaire, even if the total value of his contract was worth more than $1 mil.
Fair enough but in the owners' defense they aren't obligated to help these dudes manage their money. I don't get why their families don't step in. It's disgraceful especially when you live in cheaper states like PA or MN or NC where you can buy an incredible mansion for a few million. I never got why some of these idiots spend 20 million for a home. Someone close to me recently went house shopping and even here in NY(the most expensive ass state in the Union) a million dollar home outside of the city has 5 bedrooms and 6 bath and is around 3000 sq ft. That shit is lavish as fuck to me. It's just plain sad. Smh. Seems like the wrong people always get money. I never understood why more of these dudes never pooled their resources and formed some type of corporation that bought up a shit ton of real estate or started manufactoring plants in the carribeans and Africa where people desperately want to work and would give a China, India, and Brazil a serious run for that cheap labor market. It really makes no sense to me and I know I'm not a genius so I can't be the first person to have these ideas.
Tell me about it TDK. Why can't I get that money. Lol. A couple of people here got money for what ever reason. $75,000/ $80,000/ $750,000. All broke without a pot to piss in. True, that's not being rich but here, that's a NICE FUCKING jump on life!!
i can squeeze a quarter out of a nickel don't let me get a hole of some real money, cause i won't ever have to work again ill flip that shit more than a red power ranger
Damn P. Lol. They had to buy all the boys cell phones, shoes, ect. Like every week. Everything was always on them. Blow and go!
:smt095 can't let an 'urban person' (ie black) run into some money you know how we do i think it's like natural tho...we've been without so much as a people, for so long, that when we do get a hold of some bread, we want to break it with the troops if it was like that tho...id just break them off with a one-time sum and tell them to roll the fuck on with that 250k
