I don't see the big deal about Adele.

No, truthfully, BBW is extremely intelligent.

In fact, I'd say he's probably one of the smartest people on this forum. BUT, he uses his intelligence for evil, instead of good. lol To be honest with you, I think he's so easily bored by the status quo, this is his method of shaking things up a bit and making it more interesting. Sometimes, when you're that intelligent, you're capable of very strange things.

He is actually extremely likable (I've skyped with him before), and I'd say he's spot on when it comes to his assessments of people and situations (when he's being serious, rather that silly/gross, etc). But, sometimes he takes it too far.

 

Well in my case, he may have taken the negative assessments of me to heart, because he was more polite and (accurate) to me to begin with. Then when the hazing began later on, he started in with the nastiness (after my hiatus - I thought it was just him, that he had changed, but maybe it was because of the hazing towards me - although I had had a hazing initially, although not quite as bad, = now looking back I can see why people might have reacted how they did.). I thought he was going through something to cause him to go through a personality shift, and that he was going through a substance abuse issue perhaps. I still think that might be the case. There is no reason to believe why engaging with an artistic woman in sensitive or erotic discussions would lead to gross/disgusting topics on ANY level. This is disturbing to me and suggests that BBW needs some counseling.

I have no doubt, that, as you say, he is extremely intelligent.

Madam Huntress...you're hit the nail on the head. Saintaugusta claims to be the artistic type. But the ones I know personally who specializes in fine arts and all that jazz, they find me rather intoxicating! So I don't know where she thinks I'll be a deadly pariah.

 

If you REALLY think I have a negative view of you, then you're dead wrong. I still value your presence here beyond reasonable doubt. Despite the vast number of people on here who do find you annoying, I on the other hand see you as a welcoming individual with a lot of spunk and...strangeness as well. Nothing's wrong with being a bit more abrasive, although you DO venture into deadly territory of poor statements and judgment especially when you're pissed off over romance and betrayal. Nevertheless, you're like that insane cousin I wouldn't mind having cold ice tea with on a winter's eve.

Saint, I have no qualms against you, seeing that I'm an artistic person myself. You really need to assess your statements about me and not simply view me as merely sick and revolting. We rarely communicate, and we don't do it off of here. Perhaps you should rethink your ways.

I'm the first to admit that I'm no music aficionado, I have very eclectic tastes.

But I seriously don't get why everyone is slobbering all over Adele.

That "Rolling in the Deep" song, I can't stand. And whilst I don't like slow songs most days, that "Someone Like You" is starting to grow on me...but I still don't understand why so many people are gaga over this singer.

I don't find her voice to be soothing at all (in fact I'm not fond in any way of scratchy voices and her voice is too "I smoke way too much" scratchy to me), and she tries to hit higher notes and doesn't quite make it (like in that "Someone Like You" song).

I don't know. There are rarely any universals when it comes to music (as in movies) because tastes are so subjective, so if someone doesn't get why a singer/band is so popular when others worship the ground that (s)he/they walk on....it shouldn't matter to anyone.

I will also go on record as saying I absolutely LOATHE the Dave Matthews Band (sorry DMBLOVE!!). I can't stand his voice. I can tolerate "Crash" and that's it.

Carry on with your discussion of music. I just wanted to add my opinion on this topic because I felt like it. And I finally found an outlet to express my thoughts on Adele. LOL.

This is so much crap I don't even know where to begin.

My iTunes is chock full of black artists. They probably out number the white artists 3 to 1. So I don't know what the hell you are on about.

And what's that rubbish about black people don't have money to buy CDs?

your opinion....what lifted her over her competitors is better music, hence why ppl like adele say they want to work with her above anyone else. rember alot of her competitors: ashanti, kerri hilson, katy perry, rhianna and christina milan have used sex appeal and look at their careers compared to hers. we could easily say adele is two dimensional: singer and songwriter. beyonce has more variety. music isn't only about voice or madonna and mj wouldn't exist.

Adele is a good artist and not so pretentious like Amy Winehouse who claims to sing soul music. Karl Largerfeld said she is 'fat' well that is his opinion since he does not pay for her voice or fashion lessions. His fashions no question favor the pick up stick models.

 

I enjoy some of her songs but am not a rabid fan.

Pretty soon you will be able to "see" more big deal about Adele. One of her exes is releasing a sex tape of him and her. Note to self if you plan to get famous don't record yourself boinking.

 

He can keep that one in the vault.

 

I think she's sexy. Wouldn't mind seeing it.

 

Only thing she can do for me is sing "Hometown Glory". Great song.

 

She's one of the few women who go from ok to pretty for me because of her talent. Very rare when that happens.
