I was reading about her in the tabloids and as I was on my way home I heard it on the radio 45 minutes ago. What a tragic loss. I think her handlers did not give out the details because they are afraid of the predictable:She OD'd on a drug. Everyone blamed Bobby Brown and even after she left him, kept on abusing substances. It will cast a pall on the Grammy ceremonies tomorrow night. The people who loved her did their upmost to help her from interventions to rehab and in the end the only person who could help herself was Whitney Houston herself. She will be sorely missed.

 

I am too saddened at the great Black performers and icons we keep losing!
No-one can step into their shoes. Ever.

Death is an equal opportunity offender. White, black, yellow, purple...we all die. She was beautiful and talented and beloved. She couldn't pull herself out of her own private. That's the sad part.

 

Well yes, she's dead and we don't know what happened. She shouldn't even be dead at this age and that's the thing we're wondering about.

I don't know if it's my computer monitor or what, but the images are of poor quality and the way the blood appears makes it gross. Do we really "have" to see the blood on her legs and arms?

I think a text description of what was going on with her instead of photos being posted would have been a better move.

Anyways, I don't officially want to jump in the war, just offering some questions.
