Look at this movie’s billboard picture again and tell me you don't see the fucked up double-standard that Hollywood has continuously perpetuated.

A little bit of both but we're kinda on the same page. According to Hollyweird a WM/BW couple is a romantic comedy, but a BM/WW couple is somehow creating genocide.

Even though it's not a Tyler Perry movie I've heard about Steve Harvey's "book" that this movie was based on and it doesn't make black men look too favorable.

 

Definitely agree. Thank God for shows like Happy Ending where they are normalizing those wwbm couples. And the guy is just a regular dude not an athlete or a cover model just a regular guy with a pretty wife. Unlike the Game which I use to like until they made the Jason Pitts character a joke. Dude only dated ww because bw wouldn't give him play. Just weak. Couldn't have the dude say "no one is harassing Malik for liking big chicks or other dudes liking big booty video chicks" dude just folded like a chair.

I read some excerpts from the book and to be fair some of it was decent advise. I especially like what he said about men after 30. There's a switch that goes on in us that makes us need to be providers and if our money isn't right its difficult for us to be right for them. Pretty sound advice

 

Definitely agree with him in regards to "getting your money right" but I disagree with him in regards to being a "provider". Its the year 2012, men shouldnt have to be providers anymore. Women are making money themselves
