I used to watch soul train as a kid : Don Cornelius left behind a legacy that reaches far beyond a tv program. Music makes you get up and move! It inspires us, heals us and motivates us. Like laughter, music touches the "soul"... There could never be another, may the Angels bring you home :)

Sad when I heard it. Shocked to learn it was suicide...

Now, it gets worse, I suppose...

Very sad. What illness did he have? I must have missed an earlier story on him being sick.

When I heard he had died I thought it was a heart attack until I went on the web. He was a pioneer, legend and everything in between in Black music. I remember watching the show in 71 and when it brought back The Best of Soul Train five years ago it brings lots of memories. He would be sorely missed. Just hope his ex does not come to the funeral.

I grew up with this man by watching his show when I was growing up in Baltimore. Oh the memories. It seems final now to an era gone when black music dominated the charts and blacks respected each other. RIP my brother and thank you for the memories.
