At 0:22, the couple wrapped in the blanket on the beach... Of course the racist site trolls have shown up in the comments
i love how these companies play it safe with that 'token' looking black guy you know..the one who's dark enough to be considered 'black,' but light enough to be considered 'Will Smith' why dont they just put a chocolate brotha in their advertisements, if they really wanna drive home IR either way they're going to get flamed by trolls, that have a problem with anything darker than WB Mason bulk printer paper
hating on some of us "dark enough to be considered 'black,' but light enough to be considered 'Will Smith". also what's up with this consider black!!! I tell you man hating on a brother.:smt012 but it is ok.
Ain't you and him the same complexion lol. He does have a point though. My boy said something similar yesterday and I denied it but upon thinking about it more I guess lighter skinned black people are seen as non threatening
No, I am closer to will smith but there are plenty if not many dark skin people on tv. PLENTY. funny how they didn't want to stick will smith with a european white lady in Hitch. Guess who is coming Also Levar had some love interest interests that were white. I wasn't hoping for more on the show but it is what it is.
Honestly no one was saying They are always marrying guys who are considered black but look close enough to be carlton.:smt023 honestly is that what you are going to say to your kids who are likely to be the same shade as obama. you only got this job because you are considered black but light enough to be will smith or something.
man can't even give his humble opinion about a simple commercial, without being ignorantly criticized by supposedly college educated men either their admissions standards are dropping (i'm leaning towards that one) or you people completely skipped over communications courses
Honestly, your comment was awful. You went in played the color code card and now you got issues about people criticizing you about it. The guy is black not considered black. The KKK ain't going to go oh we consider him black but perrty is just black. Very likely they will come after you him me and TDK. It honestly seem like you want some who looks close to you to feel better about yourself. Like some people like a lighter picture of Barack who are white. same shit different story. Yes there are token black people(one person per show I have noticed). I have never gone the route of saying well he isn't considered black but looks like the guy who plays carlton banks. Why don't they go all the way with some guy who isn't. That's just insulting and not humble to anyone who looks like that guy. They got a black guy to do the part. Don't know why it is such a huge issue for you. If that's your communication's class at work with FG, I'd demand my money back. You really need a diversity class to figure out how to talk to people who are different than you. I ain't the first one different than you that has had problems with you.
I'm not gonna speak for petty on this one but I do agree that as far as racists are concerned we're all a bunch of coons it doesn't matter the coloring but I do notice a trend with American commercials and dudes who have lighter skin. The only dude my complexion that does a major commercial campaign is the guy from the All State commercials. People closer to my complexion are usually used as the big scary bm archetype at least from what I've seen. The paperbag test seems to be in full effect my friend.
go ahead i know what the deal is, even if youngbuck doesn't it's not his fault he's from a deluded generation
lmao damn kid go easy on him. I see where he's coming from but he doesn't get his own privilege apparently. We all have it on some levels. Even though you're taller and more muscular than I am a lot of people would find me more intimidating based on dark skin alone. Seen that shit my whole life. You think it was a coincidence that Omar and almost every scary dude on the wire was dark skin dude?
this is what i'm trying to convey, as i've seen this growing up we were generally more afraid of the darker classmates in school you automatically attach characteristics to them like they like to fight, do drugs, get in trouble with authority figures and so on so...I tend to look at different things with a different set of eyes, because whether you believe it or not, businesses play the market and they know their markets very well. if they didn't, they wouldn't be smart professionals.
