Christine, excellent explanation. I can only guess, but many women - and many women here, agree with your last 2 paragraphs most. (first one is a great general description of celebs). What you are saying - which I like, is that what's really valuable in life is love/spouse/children/family - and then money. But when the women here speak what you said, whether about themselves or other women, they are criticized by a select (but loud) few, and told it's not acceptable to want just that and if you do - especially if the spouse makes more money, then you are a gold-digger, a baby-maker only, and you contribute nothing to the marriage except kids. You see to them, for a wife to love first and foremost her husband, children, family.. instead of a career, that does not help the husband who makes the money. Even though when the wife stays home and takes on the huge responsibility of raising the family, keeping her husband happy and keeping the family together, it allows the husband be less stressed and focused....to make the money.
You notice how the two people she mentioned were super models who earned their own coin major difference from the picture you try to paint. You see me calling Ches or Tarshi baby makers who contribute nothing? But in the case of the extremely wealthy where you get a staff to do most of the heavy lifting you really deem their contributions equal to a third to half of what the men had actually work for? Come on Kuno really? Well this is where I respectfully agree to disagree
Yeah you did, lol, It was a just a fun "male" jab since he took a fun jab at wives, which you did too (but you were serious), which is why I even (jokingly) responded to you in the first place! *phew* lol, oookay.
Bull. by your account, Juniata Jordan didn't "earn" her $168 million coin either then, but you gave her a pass and even defended her in your Public Service Announcement thread.
I was actually going to take that back because I had always been under the impression they lived in his childhood home and she was a house wife but since you brought that up she was with him before he was anything they met and dated from 1984 until 1989 when they got married. That was his rookie year and back then NBA players weren't making much money. To put it in perspective Dr. J was one of the highest paid players back then and I think the most he ever got was a 1.6 million dollar contract not to mention when she met him he hadn't really proven himself yet. I also have to admit that I thought we were talking about Juanita compared to Elin not Vanessa(problems of posting in multiple threads).
Juniata and Mike met in '84 but dated very briefly at fist, then on and off for the following year. Stillshe maried him 4 years into his wondrous career. However before he ever met Juniata and/or was dating her, he was on the cover of SI, was voted to play in the All Star game, voted Rookie of the Year, was the highest scorer in the league, starred in a movie as himself, then in '85 the air Jordan shoe was created. He was making 2 million the year before he married her, not to mention Nike's huge pay day. It was still a signif amount back then. I know you are trying to make Juniata out to be some high school sweetheart, but sorry, DK, she wasn't. So you need to also take back that she was with him before he was an anybody, or that they were married for 25 yrs when I showed you it was 17 at the most, or that her kids were raised to adults, when they weren't. (BTW, similarly, Kobe married Vanessa 3 years into his pro-career, too.) Anyway, which ever way you cut it, Juniata is part of your gold-digging-hoe brigade no matter how you try to slice it...but hopefully you will see its not all so cut and dried...some of these men marry good women...and wait until I show something about Elin later...maybe you will change your tune about her. She's a good woman! ps, did you know both of Mike's parents were no taller than 5ft 9? Crazy huh? Gives you hope you too can make a Mikey if you end up with a shortie, eh? :smt061
I'd rather create one of the dudes in the Living The Life Thread and with a 143 IQ I think I have the genes to do it lol. I'm hoping for a mathematician or maybe even some kind molecular biologist or even a great writer so unless my future spouse messes it up with her wack stock I think it'll be all good. (Not bragging about being from good stock intelligence wise just is what it is just like GZ got those super tall genes lol) By the way I said I conceded to Juanita being of the same ilk as Vanessa and Elin and no matter what you show me the problem with someone like Elin is no matter how good a person she might be it doesn't take away from the over all argument that she contributed little to nothing outside of pushing out babies. Not a bad deal for someone who lived like a lottery winner. If you realized by now it has nothing to do with her or any of the other people we're talking about being women. I just can't stand freeloaders and I actually read a yahoo article yesterday that supported that most men have this intense fear of being used as simply nothing more than a bank account. And when you see these insanely huge payouts (no matter whose fault it is) it kind of supports the fear just like when men cheat it supports the fear women have.
you can never satisfy all. I knew a man, he was a normal looking man, not very attractive, but also not an ugly man, but he was really rich. His girl-friend was a young, beautiful and nice woman. His kids and the people around him always told him that she is just a gold-digger and only abuses him financially. A few months later she left him, she was sick of the generalizations and the bad talking of her. His next girl-friend was not a beauty (he was a good person, didn't take care of that) and the same people asked him, if he cannot have a more attractive woman (because he is so rich ). You see, what people say, tells you more about their character than about the person they make assumptions of. About money..for some men it's important to safe their vallet, for others, not. Some men love to be generous, others feel theirself abused, if they just pay for dinner.. you just have to look for the right partner for you. Because some women don't want to take any cent from the man, others don't care, who earns the money. Nobody can say what is right or wrong in general, only I can say what it is right or wrong for me.
Lol 1.6 back then was like 3 million gas was like under 60-70 cents a gallon...everything was cheaper dr j wasn't hurting at all, trust that
Especially for who Dr J was that shit was chump change. They use to treat those dudes like slaves back then.
Supermodel Heidi Klum and British singer Seal confirm they are splitting up NEWSCORE Last Updated: 12:23 AM, January 23, 2012 Supermodel Heidi Klum and British singer Seal confirmed Sunday that they are splitting up after seven years of marriage. The celebrity couple told People magazine's website that while they continued to love each other they had simply "grown apart." "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," a statement said. "We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. AP Heidi Klum and Seal anounced their separation Sunday, blaming the breakup on "growing apart." "We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy." News of the impending split first surfaced Saturday, with entertainment website TMZ reporting that Klum, the former "Head Angel" for Victoria's Secret, would cite "irreconcilable differences" when she files divorce papers in Los Angeles, possibly as early as next week. German Klum, 38, and 48-year-old Seal, whose full name is Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, married in Mexico in 2005 after having met the previous year. They are known for their lavish ceremonies where they renew their wedding vows on their anniversary every year. They have three children together -- Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2. Seal also adopted Klum's seven-year-old daughter Leni from her previous relationship with Italian businessman and Formula One entrepreneur Flavio Briatore. The couple was last seen together on Dec. 27, when Klum, the "Project Runway" host, tweeted a photo of them in Aspen, Colo. Klum attended the Golden Globe Awards without her husband on Jan. 15.
