she was fired for going beyond the call of duty....btw (she is black).

 

They'll probably get her for refusing a direct order from her supervisor when they told her to take her lunch.

 

where I work at, some nurses sued the hospital because they were 'forced' to continue working without taking a lunch break. They won the class action lawsuit and just about every employee got a free check because of it.

situations like these puts companies at risk for further lawsuits, which is part of the reason why you're forced to take a proper lunch whether you want to or not. I feel for her being fired, but at the same time she needs to be cognizant of HR policy.

I have to agree with that. When you're part of a group that is constantly stereotyped as being lazy, dependent on welfare, not willing to get a job, and are the last to get hired and the first to get fired due to your race when you hear about a Black woman being fired for working through her lunch break off the clock...race is going to be very pertinent for you.
