If you only have to call someone by name to degrade or insult them, then why was he offended by my saying "Best picture on the forum!" His name never came into play. And telling me the pix of myself are as insulting as a picture GL posted to poke fun at him is hardly apples and oranges.

TDK regularly slams overweight/older women, which I am. And he ridicules men who prefer said women. Just because we aren't his preference doesn't mean he has to slam us. That's the kind of bs that has to stop on here. He and every other man on this forum do not want to be judged by outward appearance (skin color), yet it's perfectly acceptable to him to judge women by their outward appearance (weight). He (and maybe others) will argue that they are not the same, but I beg to differ. A person should not be judged on their outward appearane, period. Whether that appearance can be changed or not, whether there is violence attached or whatever other nonsense can be used to justify his position.

He also likes to call me a "passive aggressive warrior" and "victim." Um, he's the victim, not me. I'm not going around bemoaning the fate of fat women, or older women. I only challenge him when he degrades them. And while I can be sarcastic and act snarky now and then, I'm not passive aggressive. If I want to speak to him, I will speak TO HIM. He doesn't have to read my posts and insinuate himself into them, which he does. If I mean to call him out, I will do so. I'm not one to suffer in silence.

TDK keeps this board lively, I will give him that. And that's ok. Zeal and passion for what you believe in is fine. But when you run roughshod over other people's opinions and ridicule them and call them names, that just shows his immaturity. People who do so show their insecurity by degrading others to make themselves feel better.

I'm not afraid to speak up with him. But like any battle, there are rules of engagement and he breaks them all.

Truth be told, he's not the only one here who slams overweight and/or older women, there is a long history of that on here.

Having said that, you've made some very valid and thought-provoking points. In fact, it's made me re-think the effect his insensitive words can have on others, particularly since you're relatively new... and yet he's managed to upset you as much as he does others who've been here a long time.

I personally think perhaps the best route is/was to put him on ignore, because if many people stop "talking" to you on a message board, eventually you have to look inward and wonder why.

I usually don't have a problem making myself clear: TDK doesn't stop at simply stating his preference. He then has to go on and tear down anything that ISN'T his preference, and the men who don't share his preferences. Like there is something wrong with them if they don't prefer what he does. THAT'S the problem. And there are a couple other guys on here who do that as well.

Did you ever notice that the women on here rarely, if ever, diss white men? Just because we prefer BM doesn't mean we have to diss WM. And just because gorgeous guys are in our locker room, doesn't mean we bust on overweight, out of shape guys. Have your preference, state your preference all you like. Just respect other people's preferences. It's not rocket science.

True, Dre has crossed the line & goes off board from time to time. Yes he has gotten in several heated debates & has insulted folks b4. When I’ve seen him pull flagrant foul, I tried to call him out on it on few occasions. Tho he is rude & has got that in your face NYC attitude, the fucker brings interesting topics to the table from time to time. Do I agree with him in all topics that are discussed here? Hell to the no! But I do agree with him in some of the stances that he has taken.
If you want to take on TDK then do it in classy mature way as Kunoichi always does. Take him, slam him & put his blk ass on his place & move on as an adult. But please don’t get in ultimate fighting ring with a wild animal & expect the play is gonna be nice. If you don’t like what he has to say put him on ignore, I’ve got a couple of folks on my list, just click the ignore button & add. Yes, there are others that are insanely offensive also, but they are no where near in number of posts, so his attacks just stick out more because he has more of them. Besides this crap about BMJ, he has not really posted much at all in a long time and he has been restricted more than once, Flamin has also.

You cant put DK on ignore, it does not work. Given how prolific he is and how he gets quoted in all arguments, its does not work. Besides, I don't think putting him on ignore is the right answer...just regular annoying posters that doesn't have 16K posts, yes, people that completely ignore common decency, no.

Not that I think he will learn anything from this though, he will come back same as it ever was Im sure.

 

Truth be told, my aim is not to hate on TDK. I came on here with the same intention that one of the newbies did: to appreciate BM and enjoy the camaraderie of other WW who love them. What I didn't expect was some of the harsh attitudes I've encountered on here. To be sure, I knew I would be confronted with attitudes, personalities and opinions that are different than mine and, for the most part, I welcome that. But I wasn't prepared for the insults and double standards.

My goal in all of this is not to paint TDK into a corner and make him look terrible. My only hope was that somehow, I could ask for and get the same respect that I try to give people on this forum. I am willing to debate, discuss, disagree but I am not willing to tolerate insults and I don't give them.

The list of people I don't like in this world is extremely short. And in the right circumstances, if those people would show even just a little bit of heart, I'm very forgiving and I would let bygones be bygones. TDK isn't even on that list. I don't like his attitude towards me, I don't like his way of tearing people down. I don't like how he ridicules other people and I don't like how he thinks he knows it all (and you know you do, TDK). But I don't dislike HIM.

I believe he has a heart, I appreciate his passion and fervor for the plight of black men in America and his desire to see injustice rectified. He's not a villain. But he needs to open his mind at times to understand that other people have had different experiences and opinions that should be respected, and that, at times, he may be wrong.
