Because they are just plain weak ass mofos. A real, strong man has no problem admitting or opening dialogue regarding what he wants in life with his partner. Only pathetic weak minded rats go out and cheat instead of having a conversation.

    Speaking of rats...

    Coolidge effect

In biology and psychology, the Coolidge effect is a phenomenon—seen in nearly every mammalian species in which it has been tested—whereby males (and to a lesser extent females) exhibit continuous sexual activity if they are introduced to receptive sexual partners,[1][2][3][4] but will eventually stop having sex if the partner has already been copulated with.

The original experiments with rats applied the following protocol:[6] A male rat was be placed into an enclosed large box with four or five female rats in in heat. He immediately began to mate with all the female rats again and again until eventually, he became exhausted. The females continued nudging and licking him, yet he did not respond. When a novel female was introduced into the box, he became alert and began to mate once again with the new female. This phenomenon is not limited to common rats.[7] The Coolidge effect is attributed to an increase in dopamine levels and the subsequent effect upon an animal's limbic system.[8]

Human males experience a post-ejaculatory refractory period after sex. They are temporarily incapable of engaging in sex with the same female after ejaculation and require time to recover full sexual function. In popular reference, the Coolidge effect is the well-documented phenomenon that the post-ejaculatory refractory period is reduced or eliminated if a novel female becomes available.[9] This effect is cited by evolutionary biologists as one reason why males are more likely to desire sex with a greater number and variety of partners than females,[9] though of course sometimes human females are known to copulate with multiple and novel partners as well.

While the Coolidge effect is usually seen demonstrated by males—that is, males displaying renewed excitement with a novel female—Lester and Gorzalka developed a model to determine whether or not the Coolidge effect also occurs in females. Their experiment, which used hamsters instead of rats, found that it does occur to a lesser degrees in females.[3][4]

Has the OP got their eye on a certain someone or someones on this forum and trying hard to convince & convert said person/persons to the ways of the cheater in order to get some ass? Otherwise I don't get how or why posting this works in trying to legitimize cheating to anyone who believes that it is wrong. If you're cheating so be it. You made your, bed lie in it. Why put time into trying to prove to others it's okay? :smt017

Guilt and the need to justify behavior is the answer that comes to my mind.

    Half of that is true:)
He has said he does not feel guilt about it - and I do believe him. Justify it, yes.

WWBM.com's amatuer detectives are on the case!

This article is very relevent for todays generation where we have grown up seeing on tv that "hooking up" with random people is the norm.

    Social networking is the norm.

Marriages not lasting beyond 5 years is the norm.

Pornography with unlimited access 24/7 anywhere, anytime at an early age is the norm.

Being stressed out working long hours at a job or two for peanuts which takes away considerate valuable time from a spouse but puts them in situation where co-workers int he same situation is the norm.

All this article is asking for people start to become more realistic about relationships instead of living in fairytale land.

Again who are you trying to convince? And why should anyone care? If you or anyone else wants to cheat, then cheat. Do what you are going to do. Just quit trying to rationalize & justify it. Simple as that.

Instead of reading and discussing the article as adults, folks want to act and play Inspector Gadget as children. I am not surpised.

If you do not care simply do not post and ignore this thread as an mature adult does.

If you are not surprised by what the reaction to this thread was going to be then why did you go through the trouble of posting it? A rationale thinking adult wouldn't have bothered. Need the attention that bad? SMH.

So they say 2 of the biggest components of a succesful relationship is love and unselfishness...

Ches or anyone else cares to answer, if your ex-Husband chose the high road and had a serious down to earth sit down with you before sneaking off behind your back with his yearning to bed other women with your consent, would you still divorce him?

If yes, wouldn't that fall under selfish on your part? Does for better or worse only apply in certain situations?

Now lets flip this around a little. It seems alot of older married gentlemen I speak to biggest problem in marriage other than money is the lost of attraction in their wives because of weight gain.

Would it be reasonable for men to start including in their vows that a woman shall never have not even consume a piece of junk food in their life and they shall vigirously workout an hour a day 5 days a week because otherwise you would be cheating him visually out of the person he originally fell in love with...or is that a outlandish?

How many women you think could keep up with those vows realistically?

Discussing it? LMAO - how many times have we been down that road? Do you honestly think you can change peoples opinion? This horse is so dead there is nothing to beat. Dude who wrote it wants to justify it.

There is only two reasons why you would post this. You are a lot of things, stupid is not one of them.

Ps - If only one is aware its an "open relationship", then, by definition, its not an open relationship, its cheating, plain and simple.

    Have fun.
