Looks interesting, but the trailer is a little too vague for my tastse. Anyone got an idea as to plot?
It's a prequel to the Alien series. It's suppose to help explore the origins of humanity and the alien race among other things.
It's the prequel to Alien. Remember the vessel/ship that the eggs were discovered in in the first movie? And recall that the Ashe android was program to recover any alien life forms that the crew may have come across even at the expense of the crew itself? This is supposedly the story of how/why the Aliens were on that vessel and how the Wayland Corporation may have had an idea that there may have been sometype of life forms out in space to be on the look out for to begin with.
Hahaha, wow...if Nintendo wanted Ridley Scott to use the Metroid license, they would have considered it. Plus, it's a bit of an insult because the Metroid series have a really good background story.
i was just thinking about that and the huge carcass of the 'Space Jockey.' That was one of the most ominous figures of the movie, yet there really wasn't much back story or any more information on him in the following films. I'd like to see Ridley bring that big boy to life. *late edit - the space jockey's chair is being raised in the Prometheus trailer....*nerdgasm*
Found these interesting takes that someone did for a more ethnic turn on a Spider-Man movie. Donald Glover as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Kevin Grevioux from the Underworld movies as Eddie Brook/Venom. Edward James Olmos as Dr. Otto Octavius/Dr. Octopus.
Don't know. Ask dude who did the artwork/color job. Being that he's not mentally stable I think the look fits since many of the bums on the street so often turn out to be people with mental issues.
From what I have seen, he has been shown as an intelligent man. He would be smart enough to design a suit to fit his purpose. He isn't exactly a guy who can't design new technology and sell it for quite a bit. However, most of my views of doc are from the tv shows. Maybe I the movie was closer to his true nature.
What's the saying: It's a thin line between genius and madness. A person can be intellectually gifted and still have mental issues. In Dr. Octopus' case it was the accident that grafted his arms to his body that caused him to cross over into the madness side of things. He still possesses his great intellect but he no longer views the world from a rational stand point.
A lot of the cartoons that I have seen have not done a good job of depicting him as such. I was surprised when I saw spiderman 2 to see that the arms were talking to him but this conversation clears it up a bit.
Really? You don't say? I would have never have guessed. Especially with all the various people I've met through out the years who fit into that category including a couple of family members.....
im dead serious it's like the high risk, high reward scenario played out on a biological level on one hand, you have someone with the potential to be leaps and bounds ahead of most people around, in any given category. On the other hand, that same person is more likely to develop depression, anxiety, and other disorders. Very potent mentally but very unstable, like rocket fuel. I remember reading a paper on people like that a way back ago. Hell, some of your most notorious serial killers are very bright people. They have to be, to do what they do without being caught.
I was being a smart ass with my post. I have an older cousin that I came up with who has spend a lot of time in and out of mental health facilities due to a personality disorder. When he is in his lucid state of mind having discussions with him on topics of life, the universe & everything is like talking with a Micheal Eric Dyson or Cornel West type level intellectual and when he slips into his own world it's like dealing with a ghetto level Charles Manson/militant alien & government conspiracy theoriest/"My homeboys are Bigfoot, Yeti and Nessie and I kick it with them everyday" mentality.
