Has anyone ever tried this video series by Tony Horton? I feel a little cheesy thinking about using a video but frankly, I am not pushing myself hard enough at the gym (when I go.) As a teacher I don't make enough for a PT but I know I benefit a lot from coaching as it concerns my workout routine. I've heard Shaun T's Insanity and Tony's P90X are also good videos but power 90 was recommended for beginners. Thanks!
Ah, NY resolution time. They're effective but the problems are A. the programs presuppose that you're already in good shape and athletic and B. it can be difficult to maintain the regimen. Insanity didn't get that name by accident, it is the hardest cardio routine that I've ever seen. Whether you decide to stick with your gym routine, work out at home, or do something entirely different, the most important variable will be your dedication.
I've used Power90 and loved it. It was easy for beginners and middle of the road fitness too. I have two friends who need to lose at least 100 pounds each and they could do the exercises with some modifications where necessary. It's easy to follow and I had great results. It's also good for people that are really pressed for time, as you get a complete workout in the time allotted for the videos. I am actually going to do it again then follow it with P90X. I've been running and swimming since my last 90 day session so anticipate this one will be a bit easier. Have fun CSBean!!
the whole power 90 thing hasn't reached australian shores yet, but i see it's the next big thing to come out of america from the amount of times it's been mentioned in the last 2 weeks round here, and await for the commercials in the new year
I'd recommend Slim in 6 also from the same company Beach Body. It seems more geared towards women. Check it online and see if its for you. Good luck love.
I go to the Gym but I think I am plateauing. I am pressed for time and I am not able to take all the classes that I took before. I will research both power90 and p90X to see which one is good for me. The general consensus about Insanity is that it is a killer workout, and I would like to go through the p90x before tackling insanity.
I have tried P90X and it's challenging. At first I couldn't even finish the whole video lol. I have since stopped using it and am focused on other exercises as where I live, I don't have the space nor sound proofing to do most of the vids. I love it though and once I have the opportunity, I'll start back up. For now, it's the gym and yoga for me....
