I was listening to talk radio today when I was stuck in traffic where they talked about best late Christmas gifts to wifes and it made me think about the best and worst Christmas gifts. One caller (a woman) said the best gift she got from her husband was hand written coupons from her husband in order to spend time with her. She said they were "2h spending on the couch with you" or "having dinner with you". The caveat was she had to call them in a week in advance. I was like "WTF"! She thought it was great, but the station thought it was deplorable that she had to use coupons to get 2 hours on the couch or a dinner with her husband. That made me think of the best and worst gifts I have ever recieved. Worst: My step-dad came up wit the idea to give me a HUGE present.. when I opened it, there was another wrapped gift, and then another.. like the Russian dolls.. there were probably 10 wrapped boxes in total.. When I got to the last one, it was EMPTY!! He thought it was hilarious! I was 7. NOT FUNNY!:-D Another year, I got an ironing board (because my mother caught me peeking) hahaha.. I later got slalom skis but I had to suffer. LOL. I think the best one was 50 yard line tickets to the GB vs Texans game in Houston many years ago by a bf (I suggested it though - I bought his and he bought mine.. mind you, they were not cheap). Granted, it was not Christmas yet, but we still considered them Christmas gifts as the were pricey. For Christmas that year, we got drunk on Whiskey and smoked cigars. It was a great evening with firends I am not into diamonds and jewelry or things like that - stuff you can do together is far the best! He got me a cheese head and a GB jersey that he cut in half and sewed together with my Texans jersey since he knew they were both my teams. BEST GIFT EVER!!!!
Some people are ungrateful. He gave you the gift of disappointment. geez! It will serve you for the rest of your life. That's a good one. I'm going to try that with my kid if I ever get one. I'll probably have the gift behind my back.
I am hoping my BEST present ever will be tomorrow. However so far, the best was a original poem and ex wrote me. Worst is a tie between pots and pans and a snowflake sweater.
