While I don't share Archman's assessment that racism is a permanent feature, I do agree that using racial invective is par for the course in American politics. Rather than point the finger though, I would use such sentiments as a tool for mobilizing the conscientious who desire better from our political discourse.

Not every person will take a shine to you no matter the reason. Some people don't even need a reason for not liking you.
