This show debuted the 1st of Dec. It's corny but interesting. It comes on Wed nights on FOX. The redhead sitting is the mother of the bi-racial daughter on the right, the brotha is the redheads ex-husband. The redhead comes off as a modern version of Peg Bundy I doubt the show will last. It's something to watch until your favorite shows return in Jan/Feb. Synopsis The series follows two mothers who fear their daughters are turning into the kind of girls who tormented them in high school. The fears would come quickly when Annie Watson (Jaime Presly), who grew up in an ultra-strict conservative family, begins to notice that she has allowed her daughter Sophie (Kristi Lauren) to do what she wants to do, which she takes advantage of by embarrassing and mocking her mother. While best friend Nikki Miller (Katie Fineran), who grew up unpopular and overweight and has reinvented herself as a Southern Belle, begins to notice how manipulative her daughter Mackenzie (Aisha Dee) has become. Even the ex-husbands are not very good fathers: Annie's ex Matt is too clueless, prompting his lawyer brother Jack to step in (and become an object of Annie's crush) while Nikki's ex Gary is letting their complicated relationship become more complicated in the parenting department. These situations are among the major challenges Annie and Nikki must face to keep the daughters from turning into the people they were afraid of when they were their daughters' age. lol...fox is not playing into any wwbm stereotypes at all none whatsoever the fact that the overweight chick digs brothas (and the brotha digs the overweight chick) is purely chance, right
At a recent get-together, I saw a taped episode about a school dance for the daughters... I might have missed more than I watched, but of what I saw, Fox is playing it safe and sticking to stereotypical roles that lack any hint of real intimacy, or normalcy, and have chosen instead to go for predictable punchlines and weak male roles... The episode I saw didn't hold my attention and the host of the party totally lost me when he put in a DVD of Tyler Perry's "Meet The Browns"... Perry make be making a bundle make black people look like fools, but I was not impressed at all...
Gonna get canceled like every other shitty show on FOX. Makes me think of that episode of Family Guy where Peter spened literally a minute listing canceled FOX shows. Ironically, that was the episode of Family Guy after it camee back from being canceled. Ha!
I watched an episode of this last night (it was about a father/daughter dance), & it was lame. It's just another unimpressive, boring, crappy show that'll be cancelled, like all the other Fox failures.
I read daughter and automatically concluded chick flick show. So I will not be watching. There is one big thing I don't like in movies and tv shows. That's singing. I'm looking at you glee!!!!! Little shop of horror is an exception. I mean who doesn't like plants devouring and eating people while they sing.
I watched the first episode and felt the same way. It's too bad, cause it was nice to see IR played out in some kind of way.
Has anyone checked out Happy Endings on ABC? Damon Wayans Jr and Elisha Cuthbert are an IR couple on that comedy.
