This is true. A little refinance never hurt anyone. Just glad to know that he's not another broke celebrity. I've heard of a couple of people getting their houses foreclosed on and then turning around and buying them back in cash.

I'm with saintaugusta about keeping things cheap and simple, too. Unless, of course, you've got kids or are so popular that you need bodyguards and a staff with you at all times.

If more than 100 strangers you've never met know almost everything about you, IMO it's best to go the gated community route.

Former Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor tried to ignore the fact he was a celebrity and lived in a modest house without a security system or a gate, and was killed in a home invasion because some idiot assumed a rich football player had stacks laying around his living room.

But I'm with those who prefer to abide in a 'livable' house and not a mansion/hotel!!lol

Chris Tucker Dumps TWO Florida Mansions

Chris Tucker is cutting his losses -- shedding two massive homes in Florida to help dig himself out of his financial hole ... TMZ has learned.

Tucker got lucky with the first property -- an 8,861 square foot, 5-bedroom waterfront home in Lake County -- successfully negotiating a short sale before the bank planned to foreclose on it last month.

Chris' bank accepted a $2 million bid for the house -- satisfying the actor's debt -- even though he allegedly owed $4.4 million on the property before selling it. Considering Tucker bought the place for $6 million, it was a great deal for whoever just snatched it off the market.

In October, Tucker sold the other Florida pad for $1,050,000 ... much less than his $1.5 million asking price.

But any money is good money at this point -- as we previously reported, Tucker still allegedly owes Uncle Sam $11.5 million in back taxes. Good thing they're making another "Friday."

I was surprised when I heard he was up for doing another Friday. After hearing about his money woes now I'm not so surprised.
