I've heard others say the bold and even Paterno made the same excuse to grand jury that mcqueary didn't inform him of the "seriousness" of the crime...REALLY??

    here's the grand jury report:

On March 1, 2002, a Penn State graduate assistant (“graduate assistant”) who was then 28 years old, entered the locker room at the Lasch Football Building on the University Park Campuson on Friday night before the beginning of Spring Break.

The graduate assistant, who was familiar with Sandusky, was going to put some newly purchased sneakers in his locker and get some recruiting tapes to watch. It was about 9:30 p.m.

As the graduate assistant entered the locker room doors, he was surprised to ?nd the lights and showers on. He then heard rhythmic slapping sounds. He believed the sounds to be those of sexual activity. As the graduate assistant put the sneakers in his locker, he looked into the shower.

He saw a naked boy, Victim 2, whose age he estimated to be ten years old, with his hands up against the wall, being subjected to anal intercourse by a naked Sandusky. The graduate assistant was shocked but noticed that both Victim 2 and Sandusky saw him.

The graduate assistant left immediately, distraught. The graduate assistant went to his of?ce and called his father, reporting to him what he had seen. His father told the graduate assistant to leave the building and come to his home. The graduate assistant and his father decided that the graduate assistant had to promptly report what he had seen to Coach Joe Paterno (“Paterno”), head football coach of Penn State.

The next morning, a Saturday, the graduate assistant telephoned Paterno and went to Paterno's home where he reported what he had seen. Joseph V. Paterno testi?ed to receiving the graduate assistants report at his home on a Saturday morning.

Paterno testified that the graduate assistant was very upset. Paterno called Tim Curley (“Curley"). Penn State State Athletic Director and Paterno's immediate superior, to his home the very next day, a Sunday. and reported to him that the graduate assistant had seen Jerry Sandusky in the Lasch Building showers fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy.

Approximately one and a half weeks later, the graduate assistant was called to a meeting with Penn State Athletic Director Curley and Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Gary Schultz (“Schultz”). The graduate assistant reported to Curley and Schultz that he had witnessed what he believed to be Sandusky having anal sex with a boy in the Lasch Building showers.

Curley and Schultz assured the graduate assistant that they would look into it and determine what further action they would take. Patemo was not present for this meeting. The graduate assistant heard back from Curley a couple of weeks later. He was told that Sandusky’s keys to the locker room were taken away and that the incident had been reported to The Second Mile.

The graduate assistant was never questioned by University Police and no other entity conducted an investigation until he testi?ed in Grand Jury in December, 2010. The Grand Jury ?nds the graduate assistant’s testimony to be extremely credible.

this is official under oath testimony...so mcqueary waited overnight and paterno waited until the next fucking day?? Then told his superior about a boy being FONDLED OR SOMETHING OF A SEXUAL NATURE happening.

what exactly do you think paterno didn't understand or know in all of this??

I wish to apologize to anyone who was offended by my stance in this whole Sandusky case. My point, if understood, was not accepted, and many misconstrued what I was I was trying to say. My intention was never to offend, and certainly never to minimize the pain and suffering the victims are enduring. I have been taught to see both sides of a situation and not to make hasty judgements. That was a curse for me in this event. I am appalled at the level of ugliness that shows up on this forum at times, and even more so that my thread instigated some of it.

I would respectfully ask that we table the discussion, in this thread anyway. We all have a right to our thoughts and opinions, but I don't think that extends to name-calling and tearing down an individual, that's unacceptable, imo. I want no part of it.

Again, my apologies, and I extend respect to all of you for your contribution.

I don't think you need to apologize for having an opinion.

You are allowed an opinion which may be contrary to others. As long as all respect that everyone has the same right to their thought then we should be good.

I also hate the name calling crap. I could call out the ones who do it on the regular but they should just recognize that it's childish and stop on their own. :smt011

Check this out. Talk about foreshadowing. Is it weird that I'm still tight with Arnold for leaving my man Dudley like that?

  17. Sandusky and Paterno never had friendly relationship.. Sandusky try use his clout to ousted Paterno during the mid-ninties.. However, the folks around State College was wise and stuck with Paterno.. This case is actually about greed, politics and approval ratings for Governor Tom Corbett.. Corbett could easily put Jerry behind bars during his time as Attorney General back in 05...

If Paterno and Sandusky weren't friendly, there's no way Paterno would cover for him and put his legacy at risk.

Paterno and Sandusky are tight and Sandusky singe handedly is most responsible for the Nitanny Lions 2nd NC.

How could the state AG prosecute a case that never advanced beyond the local district attorney??

  19. and: Paterno fired alot of Sandusky loyalists during mid-ninties and last decade.. It was basically business relationship between Sandusky and Joepa..
